I'm a pre-nursing freshman at a community college and want to transfer into the BSN program at UCLA, UCI, or any cal states. I volunteer at a hospital already & understand a high GPA is needed.
I emailed the UCLA nursing admissions on what they look for in a transfer & they said "HEALTH CARE EXPERIENCE, LEADERSHIP, EXTRA-CURRICULAR EXPERIENCE".
WHAT TYPES OF EXTRA-CURRICULARS DO YOU SUGGEST I TAKE? HOW ABOUT LEADERSHIP IN WHAT AREAS?

Clubs, honor programs etc. I'd concentrate on getting the grades first and brushing up on a second language, particularly Spanish while in school.
And ease off the caps.

You can always join the Student Nurses/Future Nurses/or Healthcare Careers Club at your school. And participate in their activities, especially those involved with helping in your community.
Anything that involves some sense of community is good. Find something that you'll actually enjoy. It's not necessary so don't force yourself.
