Hello everyone. I really want to become a Nurse. I have taken the HESI and I failed with a 74% the school requires you to have a 80%, and I cannot take it again because you can only take it once every 30 days. I was trying to get into the spring 2015 program. So I decided to have a plan b. I went took the TABE for the LPN program at a vocational college scored off the charts. Took the TEAS and failed.
I have finished all my nursing prerequisites. I received my AA degree this month. I don't know which route would be the best. Here's my dilemma. The LPN program (13 months) starts in March 2015, The RN program (four semesters) starts in Fall 2015. Don't know what to do. I know first off that I need to study hard for one or either both of these entrance exams. Can someone please give me some advice I really need it. Don't want to go into 2015 undecided about my future.
Thanks

Retake the TEAS in a month. The time will pass whether you do or not.

You need to look at what happened. What are your true weak areas? What do you think you could improve on? Did you really have a true, firm grasp of the content you were tested on? You need to figure out all this right now if you're going to take an entrance exam again and want to score better.

If you are going to retake the teas again, invest in the official book and make time to study ahead of time. Pace yourself and look at how long it takes you to finish the practice tests. They have practice tests online that you can purchase but don't take them until you are ready to. I would recommend looking at your scores on both tests to see what areas you are weakest at and use that as a starting point to study. When you take the test again, don't cram. Get plenty of sleep and eat well. They are long tests. Good luck.

Study and retake the entrance exams. Get a planner and set aside at least 2 hours every day to study. Utilize online sources to help you grasp the material, and also get extra books from the library. As far as which route is totally up to you. If you get into the LPN program do they have a LPN-RN bridge at that same school? Do you have any extra pre reqs you can take, like towards your BSN (if you want to further your education) while you wait to start? But get to studying and good luck!
Thanks everyone I will just study one month for the TEAS to get into the LPN program. I also will study for the HESI because the bridge program requires you to have a 90% to get in. So there's my game plan *fingers crossed*
Just a update. I PASSED my teas!! Next step...HESI!
