Dominican College WABSN program 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi!

I am looking to apply to different accelerated programs in 2018. One of the schools that I am looking at is Dominican College weekend accelerated program. I have heard mix reviews about the day program, but not so much the weekend program. Can anyone who've gone through the process or know someone who have gone through the process provide some type of insight in regards to the school, the program, and in general how helpful the professors are.

Thank you!

Anyone? Any advice or suggestions would be beneficial, whether you are in the process of applying as well, have been in the program or currently enrolled.

Hi Plums,

I went to their open house, submitted copies of my unofficial transcripts. They sent me a link to track my application status and it said "at the Acceptance stage sine 12/06/2017". I just emailed my counselor to see what are the next steps. I myself was a little skeptical due to the reviews, but at the end of the day I am good with self study and using all possible resources. Nursing school is so hard to get into these day and I am not going to pass up this opportunity. This is my last chance.

You are right! At the end of the day, one has to make the deicision on how to accomplish their respective goal. I still wish I received input from former students to get their input. I also received the acceptance, but only from the school. Still waiting to hear from the program on when they will send out acceptance or rejection letters. Looking at past reviews, people have gotten it mid December to the beginning of January.

Hey Plums, just double check again to see if the acceptance was school or the nursing program. And it shows I am accepted to the accelerated 2018-2019 nursing weekend program. I think it's because i went to the direct admission open house. I also applied to St. Joseph College in Brooklyn since the November 24th. But I haven't heard anything thing from them as yet. St. Joseph is more accessible to me in terms of transportation. For Dominican College I'll have to drive and take a lot of tolls. Do you know if public transportation goes to that area? I live in Queens.

Congrats on the acceptance Sweetkeish!!!

I'll give them a call on Monday to find out for sure, hopefully it's good news. About transportion, I google map it from Brooklyn and public transportation was not even an option. Driving might be the best choice or using a coach bus. But then again, the coach bus would be more work since you would eventually have to take a cab to the school.

Thanks plums, I hope you get in as well. Call them and ask for a status update. When did you apply? and are you traveling from Brooklyn?

P.S. I really wish more nursing students who is attending, graduated or will attend D.C post their most experience.

Hey guys!

I also got accepted into WABSN 2018.

I am waiting for other school's decision as well.. because the downside of dominican college is the tuition.. :(

Are you guys all decided to go to dominican? Have you thought of getting ADN-RN then RN-BSN degrees? For the sake of the cost..

You can take subway to port authority then take coachusa 20 to school. Here is the timetable

Hi Miniethepooh,

Sorry for the late reply. For some reason I didn't get any notification on this thread. I decided to attend St Joseph's College in Brooklyn since its easier to access. So far I love it. Did you end up choosing Dominican college or another one?

Hello everybody,

I am applying for the WABSN 2020. Did anybody decide to enroll or got accepted ? Please let me know, I am looking for reviews about the program and haven't found anything yet. Any comments about your experience would be greatly appreciated!
