Has anyone else applied to COS nursing program for spring 2016? I'm curious how many points other people applied with and if anyone has heard back yet.

How many points did you have, if you don't mind me asking.

I don't remember the exact points, I was an alternate actually. I had max points for GPA and prerequisites, I had a 75 on teas, and I received points for one other thing. I applied on the last possible day because I thought I had no chance since I am not bilingual, no degree, no classes taken at cos, and no prior healthcare. I applied to Fresno City college as well.

I hope you guys still check this thread! I am new to the COS Program and need some guidance. I already feel like giving him if anyone can give me uplifting advice on how to go about the readings I would much appreciate it

Thank you!!!! First of all I want to say I am used to working hard. I was not a slacker when I was at Reedley for my prereqs and worked really hard for the grades I got. I knew coming into this program was going to be 10 times more work. But seeing all the work before me now, there is just so much to read. I was hoping that you guide me in telling me what I need to read and what to focus my full attention on and what I don't need to worry about so much. Like for example I've been told to just pay attention to the powerpoints. But I find it hard not to read the book. Is this true should I only be reading the powerpoints? What about all the ATI readings? Should those also be read or should I disregard those

It really depends on how you learn. I will tell you that the ATI book was my best friend first semester it is basically a summary of all the chapters in the fundamental textbook. The amount of content is super overwhelming in first but you'll learn works best for you and just run with it. The unit objectives in the syllabus are what they test on and they use a lot of repeat questions from the online quizzes and online ATI test you will slowly take throughout the semester so take them serious.

Which clinical are you in and who is your instructor if you don't mind telling over this site.
