Confused about nursing school!!

Hello Everyone! I have a couple of questions to ask yall. I don't know if yall are familiar with schools in Louisiana but here's my story. I only have four months left to apply for nursing school but my situation is; the school that I'm attending now, I'm hearing from a lot of different students, outsiders, and nurses that different hospitals won't hire nursing students that graduated from William Carey University the school that I attend now. One more thing they are on probation because a lot of their students can't pass the NCLEX. Should I believe them and just go to a different school that I know will be a better chose for me or should I ignore what everyone is saying and apply. I love the school that I'm attending because it's really small, it's an 18 month nursing program, and the classes are only 10 weeks long. Any advice please??

Id stay.. A nurse who passes NCLEX is a nurse with a license. Do yourself the favor and be educated and diligent when it comes to interviews and you will get a job. While you cannot learn everything in nursing school, there is a vast difference between students in a class. Some people excel and some people fall behind.

With a surplus of new graduates, many hospitals are wanting people with experience and not have to fork out $15k in training. Someone who can hit the ground running. It is much harder these days for a new grad to get a job...

They're not getting hired because they're new grads but because of the school's reputation. Would you stay at a school like that?

look on your state's board of nursing website and look at your schools NCLEX pass rates for first time takers. If it's in the the 50s or 60s that's abbysmal and you should not go there.

They are on probation and their approval status is conditional. I don't where to look for to their NCLEX scores at.

You have to go to your board of nursing's website. Search for NCLEX-RN pass rates. If you can't find it from the search engine, find the section on nursing education on the state board's website and look for a link to the NCLEX pass rates by your states programs.
