Community College To CSU?!

Hi, um. I'm a junior in high school looking for a good college down out in SoCal.. I was looking up info and I'm just.. so baffled and confused by it all.. I don't think I'd make it into a 4-year BSN program, and I'd far prefer to do CC to CSU.. It's really beginning to stress me out a lot... I really don't want to have to do extra amounts of college either.. will someone help clarify if I can transfer from a 2-year community college to finish the last 2 years to get my BSN? My top CSUs are Fullerton, Long Beach, and Dominguez Hills.

You become an RN by completing the CC nursing program. However, it can be harder to get into a CC program because it is the cheapest way to go, so there can be a bit of a wait. You could complete your nursing prereqs at a CC to save $.

Anyone who graduates from a CC in California with an Associate's degree is guaranteed acceptance into a UC or CSU with 3.0 or better GPA.

The nursing BSN is a bit different, so contact the CSUs you are interested in and ask them directly about getting into the BSN program. Also, I would apply to more than 3.

The majority of CA BSNs do exactly what you're planning to do: 2 years at CC, then transfer to a CSU nursing program. At my CSU (in Nor Cal), the nursing program is 3 years (so a total of 5 years, including the 2 years at CC). Just make sure your grades at CC are excellent.
