Anybody enrolled in online A&P at Clovis Community College for the upcoming semester? I'm a bit nervous about it but just got my book.

Heartbeats,
I am wondering the same question. How is your A/P class going? Does anyone have experience taking any online courses at Clovis?
I actually finished awhile back. I'm now taking communications and chemistry. I thought the classes were great. The material is challenging but I thought the instructor was very helpful and gives you a little wiggle room in class. I got two A's and am VERY relieved I did. The best part was that I only had to buy one book for both courses and had the opportunity to take both A&P I and II at the same time. It really saved me a lot of time.
Wow, I can't believe you took both A/P courses at the same time! They actually let you do that? I considered taking A/P I with Clovis, but the semester term didn't work for me. I enrolled at Ocean County College instead. I might take A/P II at Clovis for spring 2011. I have some questions- I hope you don't mind answering them. I would have sent you a PM, but I can't do that yet.
1) How were the quizzes/exams taken? Were they proctored?
2) Did you have a lot of homework assignments?
3) How were the grades assessed?
4) How did you do the lab component?
5) Are you required to participate in discussions with classmates?
I also would appreciate any other feedback and suggestions. Thank you!
1) There were quizzes every week and an exam every two or three weeks. Since I took both courses at the same time, it seemed like I had an exam every week. They weren't proctored. The quizzes weren't timed; however, the exams were. The instructor gave about a minute per question to prevent cheating.
2) It didn't seem like a lot of homework. There was an assignment plus a lab every week. The lab was basically comprised of a reading and some questions that followed. It seemed like the labs were based on medical journal articles and required us to answer hypothetical/theoretical questions regarding material that related to the chapters.
3)I believe the major exams contributed about 60% of your grade, the labs plus assignments were 20%, and the final was worth 20%.
4) See #2
5) I don't recall having any discussion requirements. We were required to log on once a week, but you'll have to anyhow in order to submit your assignments/labs/take your quizzes/exams.
Hope this helps! Feel free to contact me with any other questions.
heartbeats,
Thank you so much for all the information. I will definitely keep Clovis in mind.
