i right now have 27 credits done and need 30 to get into the school i want but after this semester ill have well over 30 ill be taking A&PII (4 credits), 2 philosophy classes online( 3 credits each), and a history class (3credits). My GPA right now is a 2.424 will i be able to bring it up to a 3.0 or higher by the end of this semester?

Well, I am assuming your 2.424 GPA is based on these 27 earned credits, this is what I used as a basis for calculating your potential GPA IF you were to earn all A's in your current classes:

2.424 GPA x 27 credits = 65.448 quality points (QPts)

A in A&P II = 4.0 x 4 cr = 16.00 QPts

A in Philosophy Class 1 = 4.0 x 3 cr = 12.00 QPts

A in Philosophy Class 2 = 4.0 x 3 cr = 12.00 QPts

A in History = 4.0 x 3 cr = 12.00 QPts

TOTAL Credits = 13 (plus 27 already earned) = 40 credits

TOTAL QPts = 52.00 (plus 65.448 already earned) = 117.448 QPts

117.448 QPts divided by 40 credits = 2.9362 GPA

So, no .. you won't have a 3.0 if you got all A's this semester.

However, if you got one more A in another 3 credit class, your GPA would then be 3.010 ... I guess something to think about.

Thanks for providing me some procrasitination from work :D Good luck!

Looks like if you want to bring up your overall GPA, you may need to retake classes and up the grades.

But, first look at the program you are wanting into. There is a school locally that doesn't allow certain classes to be repeated and still let you in.
