BS(non-nursing) + ADN to DNP

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I am new to this forum so, please excuse me if I am not doing this right

Background Info:

I am in my last semester of grad school (Master's in Social Work).

I am interested in becoming a Psych NP.

I have gotten myself into a ton of debt pursuing my bachelor's and master's.

So I am looking for affordable paths to get me to my goal.

Currently, I am considering obtaining my ADN from an accelerated program. Which I can pay for out of pocket.

My question is: Are there other DNP programs other than Columbia's DNP that will accept applicants with a non-nursing bachelor's degree with an associate's in nursing?

Specializes in Hospitalist Medicine.

Yes, there are. Most require you to have your RN and a bachelor's degree in another field. Obviously, social work would be a good back ground for Psych NP. I know University of South Alabama has such a program and their tuition is very affordable.

I would suggest doing a Google search of RN to Psych NP. You'll usually see wording such as RN to MSN for associate/diploma RN's with a BS/BA degree in a non-nursing discipline

Yes, I am aware of RN to MSN programs. I am looking for other BS(Non-Nursing)+RN to DNP programs.
