Biology 20 instead of Anatomy 1 & Physiology 1 (LACCD)

Has anyone taken Biology 20 as opposed to two semesters of Anatomy & Physiology within the Los Angeles Community College District? I say the district at large, because I have attended Valley, Pierce, Trade-Tech and Mission - and I am willing to travel to any campus for the classes I need.

I struggled in Anatomy, which I need to retake and are excited at the prospect of combining these two curricula(m?) to fufill my requirements for an Associates of Science in Health Sciences (my school's version of pre-nursing since we have no program).

I'm contemplating whether to take Bio 20 at ELAC or not. Any thoughts? Comments? Suggestions? Opinions are welcome as well!

Hi I know it’s been a while but just curious did you end up taking this course ?

The best way to find this out is to contact a counselor. I know LAVC actually has online counseling - I'm not sure about the other colleges in the LACCD. I've used LAVC online counseling before and they were fantastic! Try seeing if ELAC has online counseling and, if not, just make an appointment and they should be able to tell you.

Also, you can check the college catalog which is usually online. If it's acceptable, it will show in the catalog typically.

Hi took it an got an A w/ Dr. Opereza. at ELAC. it was alot but doable. he really wants his students to pass. he a great instructor

Hey I’m planning on taking bio 20 Fall 2020 at either ELAC or at Los Angeles southwest college. I just figured it’ll be easier to apply to the nursing programs if I knock out both classes in one. What nursing program are applying too ?

I took bio 20 with Opereza at elac. Almost got an A. Just 2% away. But got a B. It’s a lot of work and he tells you exactly what will be on the exam.
