Awards & Scholarships

While you've been in your pre-reqs (or in the program) what awards and/or scholarships have you won and how did you react?

We just had awards day at my college and I got awarded a scholarship, as well as a certificate for President's Honor Roll. I was sitting there, watching people go up, and my eyes just kept watering, I couldn't believe I was finally getting awards! I haven't had an award since elementary school...I look back on my younger self and for some reason I just didn't care or have the motivation all throughout high school, but now that I've gotten into going towards my career, I couldn't be more hard working and ambitious. That might be why I felt so overwhelmed by finally getting recognition for achievement. My eyes are still watering right now as I'm typing about it.

I suppose it could be the stress of finals getting to me to, and selection coming up...hoping I get in for spring semester...but these awards...I was not expecting them! I guess I've never been truly proud of myself or started utilizing my strengths until now and it's tears of joy. LOL, I can't imagine how much I'll bawl when I graduate, if I'm this way over a couple of awards.

First off, congratz! And great job, its evident you are working hard! AS for myself, uhhh I dont think you consider the Pell grant anytype of award so ill keep you posted on what I get (if) and when I do. But keep up the good work!
