Any recent WKU Nursing students?

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I was wondering how competitive it is now. I've done some research on average GPAs, HESI scores etc. of those admitted into WKU's BSN program, but can only find older information. I know someone who was just accepted with a 3.8 GPA and a very high HESI score and was wondering if that was the norm? How likely is it that someone with a lower GPA (but above 3.0), 3.5 science GPA, and above 85% on the HESI will be accepted? Any info will ease the stress!:)

So you were accepted too?!! And yeah I am! only two of us in my group had applied. I'm the only one in the group that openly announced that I was accepted so I'm not sure about my other group member.

Yup I got in to! I'm in group 2 to the bottom left of the class. So you, me and two others in my group is who I know so far in our class. Sheww that really was such a weight off my shoulders! Lol I'm just ready to get started!

Well congrats to you too! Sorry, I had to verify if you were accepted or not. The next day I went to one of my other classes and asked if someone next to me was accepted andThere were at least 4 or 5 people outside with me making phone calls to their family members telling them that they got accepted. And I know, I'm ready to get started too. I've already started buying things that I will need lol.

Ya, I'm so ready to go ahead and just get started! So are u in the 130 nurs 102 on Mondays? Have u decided which company ur gonna get ur stuff from scrubs etc.?

Yeah, I'm in group one. I've done a lot of research before I even applied to Nursing school and I knew some of the items that I wanted and their ratings etc. so I just went ahead and got that stuff on Amazon.com. I'm hoping to try the scrubs on first so I'm getting my scrubs, lab coat, etc from one of the two stores listed on our letter. Since the first semester is so expensive I wish they would give us a book list earlier than they will so I could shop around for the best price.

Lol you sound just like me with shopping and review stuff. If it wasn't for amazon and eBay I dunno if I could survive! I literally price compare everything via Amazon and it only comes from elsewhere if it's cheaper and can get there quicker. I'm kinda disappointed that there aren't more of our fellow cohort on here. I mean I have researched and researched stuff about nursing school and all nurses is a great go to place. FYI my wife is a PTA at prorehab and in the DPT program and one of her patients was one of the ADN instructors and she gave her a list of who to try and get as a BSN advisor. Supposed to be real standup people's. I'll pm you the list in a short

My boyfriend can't survive unless he can find as many bargains as possible and it can get to him in two days or less lol. He kind of rubbed off on me lol. & Yeah, I wish we could all get to know each other before the program starts. And you can choose your advisor? That's something new to me. To my understanding, an advisor in Nursing school does more than just tell you what classes to choose? Lol Thanks in advance for the list.

I'm not for sure that you can but she just said if you could, try and get one of these people for an advisor.

What all is on your list of things you need for the program? My best frind and I were also accepted!!

SWEET! I'm in NURS102 on Mondays and two people in my group were accepted and MissTee from another post on here was accepted. I'm gonna tell her to join in here. I haven't got my scrubs, sphygmomanometer or that stuff yet but I bought the small stuff calculator, watch etc. What are u guys doing for shoes? I'm just wondering if we could get away with like black nikes with like a white ck? My wife is in the DPT program and she said she saw some ppl with two toned shoes.

Oops brainfart lol rninthemaking16 is in this forum

My cousin works at scrubs express in BG so I will likely get my shoes from there when I get my scrubs. I work as a cmt now so I have a stethoscope and blood pressure cuff and all that junk.
