Hi my name is Alan and currently im working as a CNA and in a 2 months I start my lvn program. I was wondering if anyone is going up the ladder like me? I have aBS degree in another subject but my gpa is super low (2.2 because I messed up real bad). Now I know most nursing programs need 3.0 and above so im hoping if i have some experience it'll give me some points toward nursing school in the future. So right now CNA > LVN > MSN hopefully. Was wondering if anyone went through something similar like me and can give me aany advice? Thank you

Well, you wouldn't be able to skip from LVN to MSN...

There are some MSN program that is like a bridge if you have a BS in another degree

The vast majority of LVN/LPN programs are technical (based on clock hours) rather than academic (based on credit hours). The content of technical programs is not directly transferable although you may be able to 'test out' for advanced placement in some RN programs.

Actually, I think you're following a very good pathway in light of your existing GPA. As time goes on, some of those science & math credits may begin to age out because there's usually a 5 year limit on them. Then, if you can re-take them and get a much higher grade, it will really demonstrate how much you've changed and matured. Some nursing schools only use your pre-requisites to calculate GPA. If you can find one, this would be your best option.
