Hello, I recently got my degree, a BS in Chemistry with a minor in Psychology. As much as I like chemistry, bench work just insist for me. I am deciding between nursing programs but need a little guidance. I am hesitant to do an accelerated BSN because I already have my undergrad degree (I need to take 2 years off to do pre-requistes and adding another year to that doesn't feel too productive) so I wanted to try an entry-level masters instead. I am not sure if this is the way to go, of course my future goal are to get my DNP, but not sure which path to take. Any advice for why I should pick one over the other?

I'd also love some program suggestions, anything on the east coast with a decent transportation system would be grand!!!

I'd recommend looking through the AN forums, there are dozens (if not hundreds) of forums on this topic.

Long story short: I'd recommend the ABSN over the MENP. MENP new grads seem to have a harder time getting jobs than typical NP new grads specifically because they lack bedside RN experience (and the wealth of knowledge that comes with that experience). In the long-run it won't make that much of a difference, but you could have a tougher road starting out.

In addition, working as a bedside nurse can help you figure out which NP specialty you actually want to do before you commit to a specific path.
