2014 Applicants

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi everyone,

Who here is applying for 2014? What schools are you applying to?.

I am applying to BHCC for their weekend program, RCC for their evening program, and Massasoit for their evening program.

Good luck to everyone!!! :D

I'm very frustrated. I met the minimum requirements for the nursing program I applied for and never received an interview letter. Then my professor comes to talk to me and tells me she doesn't understand why I was not invited to interview as well. Ugh did they lose my application? I have emailed and called the nursing department which has gotten me no where. I'm very frustrated because now they have all been picked and I haven't even got a denial letter.

Does this school have a policy that states that all applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be invited to the interview? If so, I'd call and ask what happened. Check your bank statement to see if the application fee was cleared.

However, in my area, it is possible to meet minimum requirements and still not be invited to interview. The schools have a set number of students they will interview and they choose the top candidates from the pool. If this is the way your school operates, as well, then you're out of luck this year, unfortunately. While you wait to apply next year (which I hope you do!) find out what the school's policy is for retakes. If they're allowed, then retake your class and try for an A! It would also show them next year that you have initiative to try and improve yourself.

The policy is they interview everyone who meets min requirements. There was not an application fee for the program. I have called and emailed and left messages with no return. I was going to go down there today and they were taking Kaplan tests so the asst was unavailable.

Retake policy is that they will combine both grades. In which I would not get better then a B for the class. If I'm not accepted I will reapply next yr if I am not already in a program.

That is terrible. Hopefully you get some answers soon!

Thanks I hope so to.

Today I received an email from a school, (one of my top picks) the subject line read "Congratulations!" I open the email to find they are inviting me to participate in the graduation ceremony for my other degree. Son of a...

Well...Wayne State University, they did it again. I just got notified that the deadline is nearing, June 1, 2014, and because that day falls on a Sunday...they just wanted to seen out a reminder!!!!!!!!

My heart dropped...and I thought...they need to stop doing this. If no one know what the deadline is by now...they don't need to be in a nursing school...right!?.

And then I came to my senses, and felt sorry for the people who are just finishing up their pre-reqs...and then I became respectful of the process...and appreciated their reminder.................but just for moment...............just kidding!!!

But I will add they did state this that, we would be notified in June, and an alternate list will be listed, if there were to be any openings.

Please cross your fingers for me!!!!!

Fingers crossed! I went to Massasoit today to find that I am #1 on their wait list. I gave my deposit to another school that is almost $60k/year so if I am plucked from the list, I will be happy

I live in St. Louis and I applied for the RN program at SIUE. I received my first acceptance letter in April. The second letter comes in JUNE!!! I'm excited.:nurse:
