Liberty University--Adv.patho & pharm. How do-able?

Nursing Students SRNA

Just wondering if anyone has recently taken Adv. Pathophys and Adv. Pharma through Liberity Univ. online? If so, is it possible to take both courses together for 8 weeks while working full time? I've looked at the course info/assignments and it doesn't look to bad. Just want to know from somone with first hand experience. Thanks!

I'm saying I would look at courses from there with suspicion.,,, How can a University teach science and deny evolution...

I think the clock is ticking and there will, eventually, be online CRNA programs. I may have heard of online courses already.

Yeah we all know how imperative it is to know the geological and evolutionary timeline when it comes to modern pathology, physiology, and pharm...

Anyways, facts being what they are, Liberty is a regionally accredited university with some accolades from US News and World Report and a common name for being a faith based university. Sure the founder may have had some ideas that are controversial, but if you dig deep enough into any organization you're more than likely to find the same.

Honestly, if someone were on an admissions committee and looked down on credits from Liberty University, I'd be disappointed. They're credits from an accredited university and should not be scrutinized based on someone's preconception about an institution.

Besides, pharm and pathophys are two classes that I honesty don't feel need a classroom component. You can lock yourself in a room and memorize away without ever going to a lecture. People will look down on online classes for years to come, but they're here to stay.

I don't think it would be a problem. And if I am not mistaken, he is getting a degree in anesthesia, not biology.... Who cares what you know or don't know about the Cambrian explosion lol

I am saying it does not matter where of from whom you take your courses...It is no longer a big deal to get into CRNA school. The doors are wide open if you want it badly enough. Quit worrying about where your courses are from. And don't sweat the GPA so much... even a 3.0 can get you in now days.

Some schools require a lab component for pathophys thus it would be to your benefit to research the CRNA programs that you have an interest in and look into their requirements for that class.

As far as Liberty as a school, I would not go there as I would not want my money to go there. They pretend to work for "freedom of religion", but really only for their religion. Their founders and supporters say that they are supporters of those that are of my religion but send out missionaries to convert us to their religion, and were quite disrespectful.

As far as evolution is concerned in regard to pathophys and pharmacology. Given that bacteria, viruses, and cancer cells have very current evolution going ( evolving to resist drug treatment ), attending school a school that does not believe in evolution could be "interesting". However, as a nonChristian attending a Catholic school, I can say that it did provide very balanced and at times , complimentary coverage of Margaret Sanger and her work as a nursing pioneer.

Ths would assume that people are interested in something on a deeper level than the minimum to get into CRNA school..... I used to ask interviewees to explain how a transducer works... and some examples of different zeroing techniques and how they would affect the readings obtained.... NOTHING that I did not know as an ICU nurse....The best and brightest could actually explain the physics and solve the zeroing problems.... The " One Year Wonders'" could not.... And the only figure the weak students could quote was the average salary of a CRNA. Alas... even those got in somewhere.

SO people.. PLEASE quit acting like it is a big deal... It is not any more... That may hurt you egos... but it is a simple fact.. the number of openings has EXPLODED over the last 8 years. It is now about has hard to get into as an NP program.

Mods--

Is there anyway to close this discussion? A simple question about taking online classes has turned into a religious discussion about evolution. This not what I intended. Thanks.
