University of Toledo Graduate Entry CNL program

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

I recently applied to the University of Toledo Graduate Entry nursing program for those individuals with a non-nursing bachelor's degree to obtain their RN after successful completion of the NCLEX exam while also obtaining a MSN and a Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) certification. I am patiently awaiting a decision and my anxiety is setting in so I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has applied to the same program or others? If so, have you heard anything? Are you willing to share credentials?

Yea, mine still says "complete awaiting decision" too. I haven't tried calling them yet, but i've emailed them a millions times asking about my application. I am getting really nervous now too, I hope that we at least hear back from them soon, becuase I don't know much longer I can wait lol! If I hear anything more though, I will be sure to let ya know!

Thanks and I will do the same!

Just as a little update, I couldn't wait any longer so ended up calling a lady in the admin building. She was able to tell me that the last letters were sent out this past Friday. As embarrassing and sad as it is to admit, she also was able to inform me that I was wait-listed for the program. I am really sad to finally find that out because I wanted to get into this program so very bad. I guess I just have to wait and see now if anyone chooses to go to another school and doesn't commit to UT. Either way everyone the best of luck and that you might get better news than I did. I'm still going to keep my fingers crossed and just pray that someone declines the offer and I can be accepted though!

Omg I knew it was something like that! Im sooo frustrated because when I asked about there being a waitlist I was told that there wasn't one. What number did you call? Id like to call tomorrow and find out where I stand. Im very sad as well and this just holds things up for our future plans because in a way we are still waiting to see if we could possibly get it. Did the lady say how long the other candidates had to decide if they were accepting or not? Or what number you were on wait list? This is very frustrating.

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd share that I received an acceptance letter dated on 4/14 and the letter says you must accept within two weeks. So for those of you that have not been accepeted yet you might be hearing something after that?

I am very upset too, I have been waiting to hear back about this program for months and I reallyy wanted to get in! I was soo anxious to find out today about whether I was accepted or not, so I went ahead and called them. The number I called was (419) 383-5846 and I think it was just an office secretary that I spoke. I'm actually not sure she was supposed to give me any information, especially about the whole wait-list thing because she was really hesitant and vague about it all. She really didn't give me a whole lot of information on things. Basically she just said that there was a wait-list, which means that someone on it could possibly still be accepted into the program as long as someone who was already accepted, declined the offer. She didn't give a specific time that they had to decide, in fact she made it sound like they could just not show up the first day of class and they could potentially open up another spot. I was hoping that they would have had a deadline to answer by so that we might have a time frame to keep waiting for a definitive answer. Lastly and probably the most frustrating part of it all is that she is not allowed to say what number a person is on the list. Soo who knows, ya might be the 1st person on the list and have a decent chance of possibly getting in, orr you could be the 20th person and be outta luck. I completely agree it is a difficult situation and still very nerve wracking. I'm sad to say this, but at this point in time i'm not sure that there is much more that we could do other than continue to wait and just hope that someone will get ahold of us soon to give us some more information. I hope that you can get some more information from the secretary tomorrow and hopefully get some more answers for us. Good luck and let me know of anything else that you find out!

Also, thanks for the heads up on what your acceptance letter says! I hope that it is true and that within the next 2 weeks we will be notified with more of a definitive answer.

So I called and talked to the secretary today about the status of my application and she also told me I was put on the wait list. Your right, she wouldn't tell me where I was on wait list but i did find out that there are 8 of us. The graduate advisor also called me today and told me I was wait listed and I asked him as well if he could tell me my place on wait list but he said all I can tell you is your in a good spot. So im keeping my fingers crossed! He also said they had several people decline last year a

So I think we have a good chance. Just more waiting. I will keep you updated if I get a call. Good luck!

Yea he called me yesterday afternoon too, but i missed the call becuase I was in class. When I finally looked at my phone and saw that he left a voicemail I was soo scared that he was going to say that I will not be accepted, but he again just said that I was on a wait list. Yea he said that there were between 8-10 people on the list, but he said he didn't know what everyone was ranked and that he wasn't allowed to tell us that information anyways. The fact that he said that you are in a good spot is good thing to know though, so congrats! Although he didn't tell me anything like that soo that makes me very nervous still. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and praying that I still have a chance! This is going to feel like the longest 2-week wait of my life though, but there is still hope. I will continue to keep you updated and hope to hear back from you as well!

Also, I've been meaning to say congrats to everyone that has already been accepted!

Hey!

Just a quick question for you. Did they ever give you a date that we should hear back by? I was told 2 weeks, but I'm not quite sure that is accurate. I'm still hoping for some good news and was just curious if you've heard anything else!

No they didn't give me a date either unfortunately! And I have not heard anything either. I was hoping id hear something this week. Its so frustrating though. Have you thought about what you will do if you dont get a call?
