GN Moving Back to PA From FL

I have made the decision to return to my home state of PA (I left PA for FL five years ago) after graduation in 2005. As a GN with no experience, will there be a problem finding employment? Does PA thumb its nose at Florida graduates? The quality of care was wonderful in the Philadelphia and surrounding areas before I left - I'm afraid they will not wish to hire a Florida-trained nursing graduate. What do you think?

I can definitely echo what Larry said. There are plenty of job openings in my area outside of Philadelphia-- I'm sure there are inside Philly, too.

I said because Ive been in Pa during the winter and it id cold there, Im just a warm weather type who likes to golf all yr round.

I dont like snow I dont like ice and I dont like being cold.

I like not having a single dold weather coat in my wardrobe, a few sweaters is all.

Hee! Okay Tee - BTDT! I agree, but had to make a decision between the people and the weather. The people won. We have a code name for South Florida - New York South :)

May be true, but I have to admit as a person who goes to fla from texas regularly, That I love seeing thong bikinis in january at the beach. You wont find that in Pa, nor nice luscious green golf courses.

Okay, you got me there but since I'm not a thong-watcher, I won't be deprived :) However, PA has the coolest people in the world and I'll enjoy not getting shoved and pushed. People seem to lose their manners when they enter South FL.
