Aria School of Nursing September 2012

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hi all, I'm new to this site (just joined today). But I've been lurking for a few weeks. I'm applying for the Aria Health SON and would love to meet others who are applying for the September 2012 academic year.

Specializes in ORTHO, TRAUMA, MED-SURG, L&D, POSTPARTUM.

Thanks for the address Bumblebee and for the tip on taking the Tacony Bridge for cheaper tolls!

Looks like with the move to my new home (south) and the move of the new school (north) my 45 min commute just jumped to 1 hr 15 min with no traffiic. (likely to be longer after 3pm for the trip home)

awwww :/ thats tough. But youre not the only one. I know someone driving from Delaware and someone else who drives from down the shore.

Ayanna, if I have the record for the shots I got then can the doctor just fill out the form using that information and sign it? The only problem I see is that I got the MMR vaccination, and the school wants two doses of those and I can't find my childhood shot record showing if I've previously received those shots. I might be screwed into getting the titers. I too am trying to save money where possible. It all adds up fast. If I could just find my shot record I would be good!

Bumblebee. Yes, driving from the shore is a much longer commute than mine (wow), however I do have kids and will have to pick them up on the way home..adding some more time to the trip.

Bumblebee can you clarify the ipad topic. Were you recommending that we buy an ipad instead of textbooks? Are all the textbooks for the Aria/PSU available on the ipad too? Just trying to decide between an ipad and a netbook. Digital textbooks are cheaper and I would prefer reading them off an ipad than a computer screen.

Also have you ever heard of the livescribe pen? Does anyone have one in your class and do you have the types of lectures that can can be recorded?

Theres not one person I know or have seen in any of my classes that has books on the IPAD. So of course I would tell you that you dont need it....if its some new thing they are starting then its out of my realm because i have no clue about that. Everyone i know buys real books....

I buy my books cheap off of ebay....

I havent heard of this pen. Some students record the teachers and place the recorder in the front of the room. Some teachers will not let you record them.

Holly, I guess it depends on your doctor. If the shot record has your job's letterhead, I don't see why not. But I kind of agree with my dr when she suggested I get titers for everything just to be sure. Luckily my insurance covered it.

Hey All!!!

wow, it's been a long while since i went on this site, but i needed to look up something. then i remembered how much this site helped me during the long waiting period of applications, acceptances, orientation, and up to the first day of school. i think i spent every day logging on more than 3xs.. but since then, it's been busy! I'm now in my second semester with Aria and taking the Nursing 111 class.

but i wanted to see if there were any others who i could help in turn for all those who helped me. As i was studying, i wanted a break and so i searched around and i found this post. i can't read each page& post (well I could, but really shouldn't haha)... but if there's anyone with questions/concerns/etc, feel free to post here and i'd love to help any way i can (or for faster replies, email me: [email protected] since i check that often each day)

good luck to everyone with your goals for nursing school and life in general! :)

Wow, Simply, it didn't take very long for you to get your child clearance back! I have been hearing 6-8 weeks from some people and I am hoping it doesn't take that long since we have to upload or fax all of our paperwork to that website. I just sent mine out this week. Here's hoping I get it before the June 30th deadline!

dont worry about deadlines. as long as you have everything in before you start clinical, youre good. :nurse:

Hi! I have a question about applying to Aria. Do I print the application and send it to them or do I go to the school and apply in person. I'm just so confused with everything. Thanks in advance for any of your help!

Print & Send :-)

Thank you very much awarren808!!
