2nd semester at Neumann University

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hello all,

I am pleased to say that I successfully passed my 2nd semester at Neumann University. I am officially a Junior. It was very challenging but I managed to hang on and pull through at the end. I can honestly say that hard work and being dedicated is what helped me get through this semester. I had alot going on and of course I did get side tracked but found my way back. So, next semester includes Med-surg and Mental health with clinicals. I am excited but nervous at the same time. I definitely need this break to get well rested for what lies ahead. I will keep you posted on how I do in the months to come.:yeah::yeah::yeah:

Ceema:D

Congrats! I'm thinking about transferring to Neumann

awesome job Ceema! I've been accepted to the part-time program at Neumann, and met with Sister Jude this past week to review a plan of action. I will be finishing up a few pre-req's at BCC this semester and take my last couple of pre-req's starting at Neumann in the fall! I'll be in Nursing 205 in the summer of 2012 and can't wait!

Congratulations Jim. I will tell you to stay focused and have as much fun now because there will be no time for that once you start. Hard work and determination will get you through.

Congratulations, Ceema!! I have also been accepted at Neumann University and will be starting this Fall....I don't know yet, but I wonder if I could start my first 205 class in the summer? Im still waiting to speak to be assigned an advisor....How were the 205 and 206 classes? How much studying time did you have outside of class?....I am so glad I found a fellow student attending my program! :yeah:

Congratulations Nurse Betty!

I will also be starting this fall in the program and can't wait! I will have a few prereq's to finish so unfortunately I won't be able to take 205 until the summer of '12. I met with Sr. Jude and she explained all prereq's have to be completed before you can start with the core nursing courses/clinicals (at least that is the case for the part time program).

Congrats to you too, jmcderm!! Great to meet another classmate of Neumann University!:D

Hi, Ceema! I am so happy that you were sucessful. I am about to start taking nur205, in summer or fall, and I wanted to try to get a headstart on the reading. If it's not too much trouble, do you mind letting me know what the required textbooks are for this class?? Thanks so much and congrats again!!

Nurse. BettyRN,

These classes require alot of your time. You have to study alot to get a better understanding of what is being presented in lecture. I read alot because I have to be able to critically think and apply all the material when it appears on the exams. I would say study everyday at work, home, lunchbreaks, etc.... Trust me it does pay off.....The book for 205 is fundamentals of nursing by potter and perry.....I don't remeber the edition off hand but it changes sometimes each semester.....

thanks alot, Ceema!!! I was able to find a 7th edition for that text.....will be getting it asap..

Since my last post, I think I maybe passing on Neumann University...I had spoke to program advisor and she stated that I would have to take 7 more classses and I won't be done until Dec.2014, which means I probably would not start working 'til early or mid 2015....Even though I really wanted to obtain my BSN, with my financial situation, I realized I can't wait that long without working.....I also have been accepted to AbingtonSON eve/weekend program, RoxboroughSON, and Temple Northeastern SON and I should finish by May 2013 on all, much much sooner...I think I may go that route instead....Does anyone think I am making an incorrect decision?.....thanks...

Not at all nurse.betty, I would of chosen to do the other programs as well because you will be saving a few bucks that way also and its only 1yr to get your BSN once you have your ASN. Just think about it, you will be taking 2yrs for your Associate in Nursing then you will do 1yr to get your Bachelors degree, also you can work as an RN at a long term care facility while taking classes to get your bsn. Whatever you decide to do, make the best of it. :)
