Applicants to PDX area Nursing Schools 2010

Hi fellow applicants for 2010!!

I wanted to start a thread for all of us who are applying to various nursing schools in the area for 2010. I have applied to five different places: OHSU-Monmouth, University of Portland, Portland Community College, The University of Washington, and Boise State University. I wanted to cover myself and hopefully ensure that I would get in somewhere. I have a really good GPA and experience as an EMT-Basic so I am hoping that that will help my chances.

Just waiting it out until they send out notifications.....I just want to hear back!!!

No they should arrive tomorrow. My buddy emailed Patty @ CCC and she said that they would be mailed out this morning. Only one more day of nail chewing and butterflies~

Blah got my email from Mt Hood for the part time preogram and I am on the waitlist. If it had been a normal program I would bee excited about being number 14 but in a program that only has 16 people that is not so good. This all means I will be doing this all again next year (third times a charm) or I will be leaving my family behind to go out of state for an 11 month accelerated program. Either way I will find my way into the nursing profession. Good luck to those still waiting and to those who like me will be doing this all over again!

Do you know how compatative Mt hood part time program? I was thinking to apply next year for it and I was hoping I might have better chance. I need to plan what schools I have chance to get into and take classes for them.

This year they accepted 16 students and had 15 alternantes. When I asked how many applied it was only 50 with the top 40 being invited for an interview. Try it! You can only apply to one program at the school so you have to choose between full or part.

I just got my acceptance letter from CCC! I am beyond excited. This was my school of choice. I guess third times a charm.

My good friend got her letter today too, which makes me a little sad because she won't be going to PCC with me. But maybe now you will get my best study buddy!!

Thank you! I think I'm still in shock.

Why would your friend rather go to CCC? Having a good friend to study and fight my way through school with might be more important to me. Besides we will all end up this the same degree from OHSU. :)
