Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello! I am curious about West Coast University in Dallas. I am scheduled to go in Tuesday for an information session and I really wanted hear from some actual students there or graduates before I go. I know it's a relatively new school and finding information is hard. I just don't want to walk in and fall for what they're saying, just want to know if there's anything I should be cautious about. I want to know the reputation the school has, so far when I mention WCU I also hear about how crazy expensive the tuition is and less about their program, if it's an actual good school that prepares you. It seems everyone is obsessed with how much you have to pay in student loans once you graduate, instead of what the person will be graduating with in less time. I do understand the obsession of the cost it's intimidating, but I just want to hear about the school, because right now I feel like it's best for my situation. If anyone can tell me their experience that would help me out a lot! Thank you :)

It sad no one really focuses on the academic part of the WCU! It is a very good school and I highly recommend it! yes, cost is high, but the faculty, staff will help you get through the program. I start pathophysiology in the Summer and I have friends in the upper Nursing and they are graduating this Fall! It is a highly accelerated program and you have to be very committed and keep up with the fast pace program. The student will work with you to help you succeed in the classes! Go to their facebook and you can get more info and see the graduating classes. They do teach Nursing and you will be well prepared before you graduate here! Hope that helps.

Major hospital systems in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area start off at $22 to $26 per hour, which is not very much money on which to live and repay a student loan debt of $800 to $1,500 per month for the next 10 years. I personally would reconsider this decision because the debt will be a trap.
