West Coast University & Straighterline lab prereqs

Nursing Students School Programs

Has ANYONE taken sciences at straighterline and had them approved at WCU (only interested to know if they transfer to WCU)?

I am set to start WCU in the spring. I am finishing up my last science prereqs at SCUHS right now. I just found straighterline for statistics I need, and on the WCU TES site, it shows as approved for transfer. YAY! They accept MANY straighterline courses. So I looked up my A&P I&II since its WAY cheaper than SCUHS, but it doesn't show on the TES site. I talked to my advisor and he was of no help. He basically said they can't tell me ahead of time if it will transfer, because it is just a guideline. He told me in order to know for sure, I would have to submit transcripts AFTER I do the class. Its WAY cheaper but a LOT of wasted time if i attempt it. I could save at least $3000 by taking them with straighterline but could ultimately push my nursing start date back a couple months.

Anyone?

Hey, have you heard anything back or have you taken the course??? I am currently in West coast and will not take stats till summer however, again you could save a lot of money. And all i need is stats.

So westcoast accepts straighterline? Please let me know

Hi, did you take any of science classes? Did they transfer?

Thanks

Bumping this post.

Anyone have any updates on Straighterline at West Coast University?

replying to this post ... if anyone needs it ! straighterline definitely saves you $$$$ literally. I took 3 courses on straighterline and even had a new user free class at the time and it saved me a whole term at WCU, saving around $8k ... definitely recommend especially since its at your own pace :) quicker than taking it semester style at a CC.

I know this post is old, I would like to reply for future students.
I have took all of my Science classes at Straigherline and all transferred. I also took classes from Sophia and Study.com. This definitely cut my time in half. I start Nursing Core after completing Patho and Critical Reasoning in January. Just please be sure to contact Registrar. They are very helpful. It took me exactly 3 months to complete literally everything.

I even took English and Statistics as well as all of my Science courses.

hi

Im attending west coast Ontario starting April I need two classes micro and chem would recommend completing them at straighterline ?

Yes. I definitely recommend straighterline. I took all my science courses through them. I had to transfer them to ACE credits (now Credly)  and provide my letter grade to West Coast. Make sure you check with your advisor so she can check the syllabus.

Yes definitely ask your advisor bc I’m thinking you need an in person lab but I wouldn’t know with covid and no in person classes atm  !

So there are no in person labs. They are virtual. You would have to complete the lab assignments. Everything is at your own pace. You would have to purchase the lab equipment separate. Instructions on the Straighterline syllabus. ?

Thank you so much for following up, I was searching this exact thing. Could you explain what you mean by having to transfer them to ACE?
