Hi all!

Over a month ago I took the HESI exam and did really well, in the upper 90's for all subjects. A week ago, I sent in all the final materials for my application - essay, references, technical standards, transcripts. I have been a very active applicant, calling or emailing ----------------- ever 1-3 days to check on things.

From reading the other allnurses forums, I'm under the impression that there is nearly a 100% acceptance rate, but I don't want to get my hopes up. I did really well in high school, very well my first year of college, but had a bad semester my sophomore year of college and failed two classes. I would hate for 1 bad semester to ruin everything, as I've always done so well in school.

Can anyone give me a bit more insight as to how competitive the admissions process is? I'm so nervous and I would give anything to be accepted. I am applying for the June start date.

With an acceptance rate of "nearly 100%," I'm not sure what more anyone can tell you about this school.

P.S., you really should not publish a school's employee's name on the internet. That alone could get your admission tossed out. Do not live your life on social media. DEFINITELY do not drag anyone else's name onto social media without their explicit consent.

I only included the name because I have seen it on other threads regarding Watts. I apologize for my mistake and have sent in a deletion request for this post.

I also do not use social media very much at all. I decided to reach out to other students and nurses through this forum because I have been unable to find much information on admission rates for this school. I was hoping someone could give me better insight, that's all.

I don't know where you're getting your information from re: Watts acceptance rates. Watts is historically difficult to get into, and has quite a rigorous program. If it had a 100% acceptance rate, it would not be the respected school it is.

You will probably get more information by doing a search in the NC Nursing section, and posting there if you do not see your question already answered in older posts. Also, I would suggest you stop emailing the person you mentioned every 1-3 days, as there is a fine line between persistence and bothersome/harassment.

Watts does in a way take most of their applicants because they accept you before you take your prerequisites (so you have to pass them to actually get into the program). They do cap their classes at 50, but it's not unlikely to see sixty enrolled in prerequisites. I know a few people have said that contacting (I know who you are in contact with because it is just the one person that handles this) every three days is excessive but when I was applying I basically had to contact them all the time to keep things moving along. Now that I'm a student at Watts I see that maximum communication is just their style. The reason they can basically take everyone and still have such a good reputation is because they certainly use their prerequisites as a way to weed students out. They have had a 100% NCLEX pass rate the last three years. Watts doesn't necessarily have the best applicants but those who do make it though the program are regarded as some of the best RNs in the area. Both Duke and Duke regional prefer to hire watts alum and frequently do.
