VCU Trad. BSN 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Hey guys,

I'm a current VCU freshman applying into The Traditional BSN Program this year (2017). I'd love to talk with anyone that is applying, or has applied to this program! I'm nervous about submitting my application that is due February 1st. So far I have a 3.8 GPA, and have submitted my 2 letters of recommendation. All I have left is to edit my personal statement. Anyone have any advice, or is going through the same process?

Hi! I am applying to VCU nursing program this year. Any tips?

I ended up not getting accepted my freshman year. I applied with a 3.8, CNA experience, Board member of a club, and hospital volunteer experience. I also know of 5 friends that were denied with 4.0's and experience in healthcare. Though I also know of a few people accepted with no healthcare experience and a 3.5. I would recommend getting good letters of recommendation and making yourself stand out in the personal statement. I am re applying this year as a Sophomore, so hopefully second time is a charm lol. This year the application is wayyyyy different. It is based off a point system, so if you have a high GPA you get more points, good letter of recommendation more points, CNA/LPN license more points, and so on. Will you be taking Anatomy at VCU this year?
