Comment below your points if you are applying to the Summer 2018 nursing cohort at UNLV

Hi everyone! This is my second time applying and I retook chem 108 to boost my score. I am applying with a 94.96, hoping that's good enough to get in! So nervous with how competitive it's been :/

I think a 94.96 is really good. I have a 94.46 and i feel really nervous about it because it's also my second time applying. =/

ya i doubt i will get in with a 93.9 lol

I think you will get in just fine. I'm not applying this go around with y'all, however I did have a long chat with an advisor yesterday and he stated that the fall 94 cut off was a fluke. The advisors are pretty sure that there was cheating, or a hesi exam cheat sheet passed around, for the fall cohort. (I am not saying they are right, I am just letting you know what I was told) he also said that the entire nursing department has been actively investigating the fall cohort.

Anyways, what I'm trying to get at (and doing a horrible job doing so...) is that I would expect low 93's to be the cutoff from here on. And with yours being a 93.9, I think you will be good!!!

Fingers crossed for all of you though!!!

Omg thats crazy if its true...hope it doesnt happen this time around

Hi Lindsay71105, I just wanted to say that I have a good amount of friends in the nursing program that are from Fall 2017 cohort and I just want to assure you that they were NOT cheating on their HESI. It sounds a little offensive to them since they've worked hard to get where they are now (since I have seen them study a lot). I just feel like you shouldn't be saying those kind of things even though an advisor had told you that. However, I am not sure if the pre-nursing advisors even deal with application evaluation, or anything, after students are admitted. And not all 48 students pass level 1, but they did it with 47 students going into level 2. So I think that is awesome.

FutureRNnurse-

I didn't mean to offend anyone, and like I stated earlier, I don't think it's right either. However, if this is information that is WILLINGLY being given out by the advisors, I don't see why I "shouldn't be saying those kind of things." I really don't want to start a debate, or step on anyone's toes, I really dont! I truly don't like offending anyone or hurting feelings, I was just relaying information.

Along those lines, the nursing department does scan Facebook, Twitter, and even here, looking for anything that they could possibly consider cheating (again, this is straight from the horse's mouth.)

So, I am sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings, or offended anyone in any way. I understand us pre-nursing students work hard for our grades, and I definitely don't mean to belittle that. I truly am pulling for everyone in here!!!!

@Lindsay I understand what you're saying. I just know that they worked hard to get in so no one should be assuming. :) best of luck though!
