I'm considering apply to The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa (NOT USA, or UAB) for the Spring 2016 start date, but the information on this forum seems pretty limited about it. I've heard that the standard BSN program at UA is questionable about preparing new RNs, but what about the distance- based RN-MSN? The cost of attendance for distance learning is very attractive to me and I would like others opinions on this.

Thanks in advance!

I know it's a little late to reply to your post, but I wanted to in case it helps anyone else. I'm currently an ASN RN enrolled at UA in the RN to BSN Distance Learning Program. I am finishing up my first semester of 3 with them to complete my BSN. Obviously, I can't speak to the MSN portion of the program, but I have had a great experience so far. I am working on my clinical placement for the next two semesters at the moment, so that might change things a little. The college has been extremely helpful. The instructors have been wonderful, great communication, and very understanding about scheduling issues. I'm noticing, which is not unusual, that the BSN content is more theory, informatics, and exploration of job role in this first semester. As it goes on, I know leadership will be covered and more public health role nursing. I'm happy I chose UA so far!

I have enrolled at UA in the online distance learning, RN to BSN program and start nursing classes in the Summer 2016. Any tips/suggestions appreciated. Roll Tide Roll.
