I just wanted to start a thread for Those who have applied to Texas state SON for the fall of 2018 (:

I'll be applying at the end of the semester!

Awesome! I still need to take my teas, have you taken yours? Any tips?

I actually haven't taken it yet, either.

I just recently took my TEAS. I passed and scored in the 90's on the language/writting and math sections. I got the minimum scores for science and reading and will be retaking it to try and improve my scores on those subjects. Those are the two subjects that are giving people a lot of trouble. On my science portion there were a lot of questions that are covered in A&P 2 which I haven't taken yet. It would prolly be a smart idea to to familiarize yourself with some of the A&P 2 subjects if you haven't taken the course yet.

I took my TEAS so I can now report all my stats...

Science GPA: 4.0

Overall GPA: 4.0

TEAS Overall: 96%

-Reading: 89.4%

-Math: 100%

-Science: 100%

-English: 95.8%

I am submitting my application on January 5th for fall 2018, I am super nervous! Good luck to all of y'all!!

Does anyone have any advice for the TEAS? :/

I'm taking it for the second time next week.

My first scores were okay. I am aiming to increase my reading score and science score. I made a pretty high score on English and Language and Mathematics so I think I am okay with those two.

For the the science I watched khan academy videos and crash course as well as a study guide of the teas. The score I made was an 80 and I'm not sure why that is. I want to improve my studying to make a higher score.

The reading section, which I feel a bit silly for not scoring as high as i thought I would, was tricked than I anticipated it to be. I didn't study much for it and i went it and didn't do well. Now, of course I've taken multiple practice tests and read through the study guide.

If anyone has any tips or advice for studying those sections or any sections I would really appreciate it! Good luck to everyone!

Does anyone know if we attend TXST whether we need to send an official transcript or not with our application to St. David's?

I actually had the same question and emailed my advisor and this is what she said,

"If you have sent all transcripts from previous institutions to Texas State and if those courses are reflected on your degree audit then you do not have to send separate transcripts to the St. David's School of Nursing. However, if you have courses that are not reflected on your degree audit or class history, it is required for you to send those transcripts to the office of undergraduate admissions as soon as possible"

Hopefully that helps!
