Texas state fall 2018

Published

I just wanted to start a thread for Those who have applied to Texas state SON for the fall of 2018 (:

Hi! I'm applying to TXST SoN for Fall 2018, also. I retook my TEAS today. I wish I would have spent a little bit more time preparing, as it was 2011 when I took A&P (advisor said they no longer expire when I talked to her about enrolling to retake). This morning I reflected on the material I had studied, and I knew I really should have spent more time on the endocrine system and neuromuscular system. No surprise that those were my problem areas on the exam!

Needless to say, I am very nervous about applications! I've posted my scores below, and I will update if I am accepted (maybe it will help someone in the future). Good luck to everyone!

Science GPA: 3.6

Overall Prereq GPA: 3.72

Overall GPA: 3.61

TEAS Overall: 93.3%

-Reading: 97.9%

-Math: 100%

-Science: 87.2%

-English: 87.5%

I officially mailed my application today!

I started a Facebook group for Fall 2018 applicants. It was very helpful for the previous class. Search for it "Texas State Nursing Applicants- Fall 2018" and join!

Thank you so much for sending this link on your advice! I used your advice and retook the test. I brought up my reading score to above the minimum so I was able to apply!

I sent in my application on Saturday!

I'm not satisfied with my final TEAS scores but I tried my best. Here are my stats:

Composite score: 86.7

Reading: 85.1%

Math: 96.9%

Science: 87.2%

English and Language: 75.0%

Cicumlative GPA: 3.78

Science GPA: 4.0

I'm worried about my English and Language score. I actually scored an 87 on this section the first time around but for the retake I focused more on the science and reading and I guess that resulted in a lower English score. I'm hoping that they look at my other sections And take into consideration my GPA and essay. :/

Standardized exams haven't ever been my strong suit.

I'm super nervous! Everyone that has posted so far has amazing test scores and it's really impressive!
