Southwest TN CC Fall 2017 hopefuls

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello all, i'm in the process of applying to 3 different nursing schools in TN starting Fall 2017. Southwest TN CC, Nashville State CC, and Chattanooga State CC. I already have a BS. in Biology and have completed 95% of the prerequistes already. My GPA is not as good as i want it too be (2.85) but im retaking 2 classes this Fall 2016 to help increase my GPA along with my rankings for the three schools. I also taught science out of the country for awhile, along with teaching middle school science for a year in the public school system.

Just wanted to start a thread/topic for those working towards a Fall 2017 start. I know its way far in advanced but i always like having plenty of time to prepare myself and get organized. Any tips from those who have just got accepted or current RN students that helped them through the application process? I was reading several other threads and im starting to get nervous that my gpa is too low. I know different schools look at different things for accepting students but i wanted to see what others thought.

Thanks for the input!

I saw this post is from 2016, but I was wondering if you applied to Southwest for Fall 2017. If so, have you heard anything? I applied for Summer 2017, but my deadline was Feb 1 as well.

I did apply for Fall 2017. It says on the website though it that we won't start hearing back till next month. Did you apply for the LPN program? I just looked and it said that program that starts in summer you get notified in April as well

Thanks for the reply. I did apply for the fast track program. I got an email from the school saying that my application was received, they would meet in March to pick who's accepted and we would be notified by April 30. Since my program starts May 30 I hope they don't wait that long.
