San Antonio 2017 worried about their TEAS scores and GPAs

Anyone applying to schools in San Antonio and worried about their TEAS score or GPAs not being high enough?

I'm a little worried about the TEAS, because we'll be taking the new test. But my grades are competitive for the school I want to attend (UTHSCSA).

When are you applying? Which school are you looking at?

Hi! I applied to Incarnate Word because they allow you to apply before all of your pre-requisites are complete as long as your transcripts show you're enrolled in the final ones needed. My GPA is good but I scored right under 65% on my TEAS. I literally finished this last semester and prepared for it in two weeks. It was harder than I expected. I mainly felt pressed for time and the science was mainly genetics and chemistry. The deadline for UIW 2017 is July 1st. If I don't get accepted I'll be taking the TEAS again when I am more prepared!

Ps. I know UTHSC requires a minimum of 65 whereas UIW requires you score proficient which I did make.

UTHSC allows that, too - you just have to have completed your math/science courses.

Have you looked at the profiles for the previous years acceptance for UIW? So you can see what a median TEAS score is? For example, UTHSCSA has 65 minimum, but the average for the students that were accepted is closer to 80. That might help you figure out if your score is competitive!

I won't be applying until next year around this time - best of luck to you!

Yeah, I know my score isnt competitive :/ The bright side is I will have time to study harder and take it again before I'm even eligible to apply to other programs. Be sure to study for that test LOL! Do you know where I can find the previous scores?

I can't really study for the TEAS V, because as of August 31st, it won't be available anymore. I'm going to wait until the new test is out and see how I do.

I'm not sure how to access that information for UIW - I've never looked into their program.

That's right! You have to wait for ATI to issue a new study book, right? Well thanks for your response and good luck to you!!

Hi. I was accepted into BSHP for Fall 2016 with a score of only 74.7% on the TEAS. My pre req GPA was a 4.0 (Micro and A&P I&II). Get the TEAS study guide, it's very helpful. I got mine on Amazon. It is very similar to the actual test, but I didn't go through it as thoroughly as I should have. Best of luck to you.

Moved to schools and programs

I applied to SACS spring 2017. At first I was confident with my gpa and scores but now reading everybody else, I'm not to confident.
