RN-BSN programs in Illinois?

Hey there! I recently moved from Michigan to Illinois in August. I've always wanted to go back to school to get my BSN, however after seeing the amount of hospitals around here that require BSN's I need to go back sooner than later! I'm currently living in Schaumberg. Willing to travel within an hour radius. Any recommendations on what RN-BSN schools/programs I should look into? Thanks for your input :)

have you looked at ONLINE Rn to BSN programs?? I'm in Nicaragua and about to start at Grand Canyon University. The school is out of Phoenix Arizona. Everything is completed online. I found it to be 1 of the more reasonable cost courses and fairly good reviews, always going to find some negative ones! I guess I like that each semester is only 5 weeks long, so 1 can complete it fairly fast. I require 12 more classes---and I can test out of 2 if I so wish. Best of luck

Oh boy. Thera a lot to go into here! I live in the quad cities south west of chicago. I have been researching RN-bsn a lot and there is much to consider. U of il Chicago has a wonderful reputation but competitive acceptance. Eastern il u is good. U of il is good with multiple campuses. I would warn against western il u. Very disorganized.

Thank you! @livrn after doing some research in the meantime it looks like most programs are online around here, so I guess that's what I'll be doing. The three I have been looking into thoroughly have been university of illinois at chicago, northern illinois university, and loyola university.

I recently graduated from an ADN program. Many of my classmates chose Purdue University - Calumet due to its great reputation and lower cost (around $12K).

Popular options for Illinois schools include UIC & Loyola. These two may run about $19-20K. If you meet requirements & can afford these two, you will be accepted. Admission is competitive for both the traditional & accelerated BSNs.

All 3 schools offer online RN to BSN completion programs.

You could also look into Chamberlin, NIU, and Benedictine Universities.

Why do you say admission to University of Illinois is competitive? Just meet admission requirements and you will be accepted. It's ONLINE- so they accept a lot of people.

Admission to the traditional & accelerated BSN programs is competitive.

Admission to the online RN to BSN program is NOT competitive.
