Hi everyone, im graduatting high school in a couple of month's and considering going to RCC. I have a couple of questions, how long is the RCC nursing waitlist? What is the minimum gpa requirement to get into RCC nursing program? What kids of grades do you have to get in pre-reqs in order to get accepted in any nursing program? What nursing programs in the inland empire are good? I'm a little nervous because im not that good at math (I'll most likely get a tutor) sorry for all the questions just trying to find my way. If anyone has any advice about differant colleges for the nursing program that would be great also, i wont be able to go to a private school (to much money) I also dont want to wait a long time to get into a nursing program (but if i have to i will) is there anything you can do while on the wait list like take more classes? My councillor told me some collegs dont let you take classes while on the wait list. Thank you guys (:

Well, first it would help to know what RCC stands for. There may be multiple schools that could go by that abbreviation. Additionally, you could get better and more accurate information by contacting an admissions counselor at the school.

Since this forum is viewed by people from all 50 states, Canada, the UK, and many other countries, few respondents will know what RCC means unless you clarify.

There is no waitlist at rcc or most cc in so cal.. so when your done with the pre reqs you just apply and wait.... you need at least a 2.75 to have you application looked at, but I have a 3.6 in my science and was on the alternate list last semester.... keep your grades up and you'll be fine

RCC accepts students based on different criteria. Having good grades is one. They use a point system. For example, you get 4 points for getting a C or better in statistics; you get points for taking two semesters of a foreign language; you get points for having CNA/LVN/EMT experience.

There's no wait list but there's an alternate list and that pretty much means that they look at all the accepted applicants and if someone doesn't meet criteria e.g fails a background check, then you're in.

I would recommend working in the field as a CNA or EMT to gain some hands on patient care experience. This will come in handy for clinical.

Other schools around the area include: Chaffey college (you need a 4 week dosage class from their school to be eligible for their program), Mt. sac (they accept HESI not TEAS), san bernardino valley college, citrus college, college of the desert.
