Need to find a new nursing school

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I was going to a Vocational nursing school in NJ and was doing well till my last semester when I failed one course OB/GYN. The school suddenly closes for academic reasons and I am without a school, have one course to complete and I am trying to find a school that will consider accepting my vocational credits in order to allow me to complete my courses to go one to become a nurse. Does anyone know of any school in the NY/NJ I will even do PA/ Conn in order to complete my classes and take the next step to becoming a nurse?

My goodness that is infuriating! They just closed up, no advice on where to go, no idea on how to proceed? Surely they are responsible for finding you a way to finish? Jeez.... What a mess.

Do all vocational programs require Ob?

Do all vocational programs require Ob?

Yes. All LPN programs are generalist and require adult med/surf, ob/maternity, geriatrics, mental health & pediatrics

Be prepared to start over, or as a minimum, repeat a lot of your program, as most nursing schools will not accept the nursing courses from another school.

Some of the county vocational schools (I know at least one) will consider advanced standing for someone from a different program HOWEVER your former school closed for a reason and that may block this possibility.

It would be great to know the school so I can finish up my courses and testing become a Nurse.

They will consider, it's not a guarantee and you usually must have left in good standing not dismissed from the program. Check your county college or vocational program that has a practical nursing program for information.
