Lone Star Fall 2017 ADN Hopefuls

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey I was wondering if anyone else has started a post on Fall 2017 Lone Star ADN Hopefuls... & If not then let's get this one going!

I'm at a 6.0 for the ADN and 6.3 for the LVN. My grades are what's messing me up. I would damn near have to get a perfect score on the Hesi to even out the grades I have in A&P II and Engl 1301.

@Melanie

Dang! I see what you're saying now! I had to go back and look at the original post. Yes retake the HESI

what was your cumulative score? Mine was 82%

But here's the thing... there is hope!

Do like I'm doing, apply for both! Even if you get into LVN, you can do the transition program after you've worked as an LVN for 1 year! I'm not retaking anything unless I don't get accepted! It was 5 years ago when I took AP I! So if I don't get accepted I'd have to taken refresher courses and retake hesi being that it's only good for 1 year!

No wait... I don't think I'm at a 7.2... I believe I did my math wrong I think I'm below that!

I think it's 6.2.

3.0 on all my grades and 3.2 from my HESI scores. But I'm still not retaking it. If I don't get in ANYTHING, I'll retake my Hesi and AP I

My overall score is 83.25%. I don't wanna take it again either but I just may have to so I can avoid being pushed back to the next app deadline.

Great score @Linnrubi ! I'm at 7.5 & my first choice is Montgomery Campus. Prayers, Fingers crossed, candles lit that I will get in! CyFair is way too far for me.

I have an A in English and A in A&P1. I took the HESI and got an overall 90% but sadly it was for another school and it did not offer the critical thinking section. So, I have to retake the exam at Lonestar :/

Boo! That sucks that you have to retake. But bgreat on the A's. I'm sure you will do fine on this Hesi. What are your campus choices?

Honestly any one of them lol but my number one is barker cypress since it's close to me.

I got cleared by BON

Hello future nurses!

I completed my HESI after taking it 3xs (really crammed a few days before each time and finally learned enough).

I struggled with only A&P each time! Final score was 82%. I KNOW I could have done better if I put more effort. With working 12 hour shift/Full time student/ Full time mother I just didn't have the energy to prepare as well as I should have! Needless to say, I'll be applying this week for BOTH LVN and ADN for all campuses!

Making sure that just in case I don't get in ADN silk have something to fall back on!

-Another thing, your hepatitis B series have to be COMPLETED for this application. Wasn't like that in the past... you only had to start it... 6 month process if you've never gotten it... but make sure you are working on getting that COMPLETED! Total of 3 shots!

I passed AP 1,AP 2, ENG 1301 & 1302 w/ B's!

If I'm not mistaken, the LOWEST average for calculations for ADN FALL 2016 was typically around 7.0! Also have to take in to consideration HCC students had to transfer!

Im excited for everyone reading this! I will be doing a Video on YOUTUBE to help with the HESI test... I took a few questions and examples from my "memory" and will discuss them. ESPECIALLY from AP section!

-Side note... is anybody else dealing or have dealt with the BON regarding criminal record clearing? I know someone who has a Class A misdemeanor (non-violent/drug/alcohol related) any news on that?

Hope to hear from you all throughout this process! Don't be shy!

I had a misdemeanor (PI), & BON cleared me.

Can anyone recommend a book or study aid to prepare for the critical thinking section of the HESI!!
