I want to be an RN in California

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Okay, so I am almost done with my LPN program in Kennedy Global School then I just have to take the NCLEX-PN. At first I was not aware that they arent accept by BON in California. So instead I am going to apply to West Virginia.

If I take LPN-BSN in a university, can i take the nclex-rn in california?

Also, do you know universities that offer it? because Excelsior is not accepted in Cali and ISU is having issues with Cali too.

Why not get your BSN in WV? Take the NCLEX-RN in WV and then apply for license in California?

ISU has just started accepting applications for CA in certain zip codes. In regards to taking the NCLEX here in CA from another out of state school, they will not allow it because CA has is one of the strictest states to get a nursing license in. On a happy note though, we are able to get endorsed in any state because of this...lol...whooo hooo...

Your best bet is to go to school here through TCN/ISU and take your boards here as well. CA is one of most impacted states for getting into a nursing program even if you have your LVN so since I am not getting any younger, I took this option instead and do not regret my decision one bit...let me know if you would more info on the program.

Remember you cannot endorse back to California if they did not accept your initial application as CA goes by what initially qualified you for licensing. Since you would not be eligible for a CA LVN license if you tried to endorse back from WVa you would not be eligible for the Indiana State LVN-BSN program as you would not have a CA LVN license. The issue in many states is that Kennedy Global is a PN program conducted totally in a country that does not offer or recognize the LPN credential therefore you cannot be licensed in the country of education and thus ineligible for licensing in many US states.
