I am currently in the RN-BSN program

Ok. I don't have stats until Jan. That is a good thing since I am accepted on conditions that I make a 3.0 in my first 4 classes. Stats is my fifth class, so that is good.
You write a paper every week. There are 2 discussion questions you must answer every week. First question is due by Wednesday, second question is due by Friday. You must comment on two other student's discussion questions for 4 out of 7 days. So you make a total of 8 post to other student's comments, and post 2 answers to discussion questions every week. It really is not that bad. You just need to get into a rhythm. There is required reading every week. There is one group project per class. Usually a powerpoint presentation. Its not bad! Get PEERLA to help you write the papers in APA format. All papers are due by 11:59pm on Sunday time zone of whichever Phoenix, AZ is in. Each class is 5 weeks long, weeks starting Monday at midnight to Sunday at 11:59pm.

However, on a previous post you said that we have to login/comment for 4 out of 7 days. So far have all your classes been set up that way? Having to login and comment 4 days out of 7 seems a bit much. My problem is that I am doing 12's on Wed/Thu/Fri (rotating schedule), and in addition to that I have an average of a 2 1/2 - 3 hr commute. I am just starting that shift and have no idea how my body will react to it. Now I am freaking out that I will not be able to comply with those requirements. Honestly, is it doable?

Hi I am a newbie on this site and looking to hopefully attend the fast track at AT Still of Fall 2013. Should I be worried if I have one C in math with everything else sitting at an A? Is the program super hard due to the time? Any comments would help me!

It is doable! Anything it when u put your mind to it. I am working 55 hrs a week, two jobs one day shift job one night shift job, have four year old son and a husband and I have a 4.0 GPA. I have gotten an A in my first four courses.
I had to post 4 out of 7 days for the first two classes. After that, 3 out of 7 days.

Thank you centered-rn for responding. You're amazing, with all you have going on and still able to maintain a 4.0. How do you manage to get everything done?

Hi, I am getting ready to start the RN to BSN online program at GCU but here all kinds of bad reviews about the school. Wondering if I should apply to ASU instead. Any advice??

When is your start day going to be? I start on Feb 4th.

I delved in pretty deep with GCU, through my employer, talking to GCU, an alumni on AN and IRL.

From what I gathered, GCU grew too quickly in the early online days. I don't think it helped they went to a for profit organization and re-designed everything. So far, they have been very upfront with me. They return my phone calls and or emails in a timely fashion. My core classes are just that. No more and no less. So far everything has been fine...fingers crossed.

A co worker of mine graduated from GCU and had zero problems. I thought a lot about what I was going to do, and decided to go with them because my organization backs them as well.

I am currently taking my fifth class at GCU and I have had absolutely no problems. I even had a family emergency during my last class and thought for sure I would have to drop. With the encouragement of my instructor I stuck it out and finished the class...with an A. I love the format of GCU and that the classes are only 5 weeks long. That fits my ADD personality just fine.

I am in my 6th class at GCU and have had no problems so far. Back in August, I actually had to drop the class I was in because I had had surgery and couldn't keep up. I ended up taking a 3.5 month break because of various things going on, and they were very accommodating. My educational and financial counselors kept in contact with me and encouraged me throughout my break. I love that the classes are only 5 weeks long...just when I start to get bored with the subject, I move on to another! :) The only regret I have has nothing to do with GCU, just more with online schooling in general. I have realized that I do better in a classroom setting- not grade-wise necessarily, but I just enjoying connecting with my professors and fellow students. i do miss that aspect with doing my BSN online. Besides that, great experience! Good luck, I hope you like it too!
