Nursing Students School Programs

Hello All!!,

I am creating this thread for applicants of the Grossmont College fall 2016 cohort. I just handed in my application today and was told I would not hear back until April. Feel free to share your experience, points, advice(from students accepted in previous cohort). Good Luck to us all😊

Your thread has been moved to our Nursing Colleges forum. Good luck to everyone.

Hello, I have also applied. Fingers crossed!

I applied as well. Based on my count, I should have between 82-87 points. This is my first time applying for any nursing program. I applied to MiraCosta and Palomar in addition to Grossmont. I am just hoping for the best, trying to not get too excited or too nervous. Focused on staying positive and if it is meant to happen now, then so it will be. Good luck everyone! :)

Does anyone know when Grossmont is going to get back to us

They told me "about a month" when I submitted my application. From looking at previous threads it looks more like a month and a half. Monday will be a month from the application deadline. So we'll see.

Thank you, am just patiently waiting í ½í¸Ší ½í¸Ší ½í¸Ší ½í¸Š

OllieBollie1024, which community college do you currently attend?

Redemption, I currently do not attend a community college. I just work full-time. I graduated from UCSD in 2014. Afterwards, I attended MiraCosta, Mesa & Miramar between January 2015 and December 2015 to complete a few pre-reqs that I hadn't completed at UCSD (because I didn't expect to go into nursing at that time).

I did get into MiraCosta's nursing program, so I will be attending there in the Fall. I have yet to hear back from Palomar College or Grossmont, but MiraCosta was my first choice because of the small class sizes and because I may be able to do clinicals as Tri-City, where I was once an ER Scribe.

Best of luck, everyone! Stay positive.

Olliebollie1024, ah thank you! I didn't apply to this cohort cause I still need to do prereqs, I was just wondering if I should go to Miramar/Mesa or just Grossmont to take prereqs. (Even though I live closer to Miramar). I might go to Grossmont. It doesn't matter which community college you take prereqs for entrance into Grossmont's ADN program right?

Nope! As long as its an accredited school and accepted by the nursing program, and most are. I really liked Miramar College and Mesa. My psych course was online through MiraCosta. If you have other questions regarding the application process, feel free to message me. Good luck with your application process!
