Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Good evening,

Who all applied for the Lpn program starting this August 2018 at Gaston College?

Specializes in ICU.

I applied :) I got 11 points. What about you?

That's great. I have 10 points this is my first time trying to get into this program. I hate waiting though I'm so impatient.

I totally feel you! I initially went back to school last year to start doing all my "non-nursing" courses for RN when my friend told me I should apply for the 2018 LPN program in the middle of fall semester. It was completely unplanned but I decided to try. I took the TEAS test to see what it was like without studying and got a pretty decent score; 77.3. I only have one class done that counts for LPN program, psych 150 :( which I got an "A" in. I'm taking anatomy&physiology 168 + eng 111 right now. I've got a 97% in A&P so far and 100% in ENG. I figure if i dont get accepted then at least I'm still on track for RN. I kinda wish I had planned this better because I would've taken anatomy&physiology LAST semester; if i get into the LPN program I'm gonna take 169 over the summer which I'm super nervous about because its going to be really condensed and quick to take such an intense course over a short period of time. However, I'd rather not have an anatomy&physiology class ON TOP of a nursing class. :X I'm a single mother so it's already a challenge to work full time & go to school, I don't want to overwhelm myself any more than I have to :D

I really want to do the LPN -> RN bridge program if I graduate LPN :) I also applied to Forsyth because I didn't want to put all my eggs in one basket, but because I've only got one course done I think I'm more likely to get into Gaston than Forsyth which is perfectly fine with me because Gaston is my first choice :)

I've seen on other forums from the previous years that 9+ points have been accepted, so hopefully that continues! I've also seen acceptance e-mails go out anywhere from the end of march to april 15th (or in our case 16 since the 15 is on a monday- lucky us -_-) I'm just grateful that we will be getting an e-mail rather than a letter! At least they will instantly get sent rather than waiting days for the letter to arrive in the mail. UGH, all this talk about it is making me even more anxious! XD

I applied with 11 points.

OMG just got an email from Barbara Burgess (Gaston) and my heart literally dropped. Just a tease e-mail about an open house in health and human services XD

I'm hoping we'll get lucky and hear back within the next 2 weeks!! This feels like the longest wait ever!

That's good. Hopefully girls we will get in this year. :) best of luck!

Haha! I did the same thing. I got excited then read it and was like ahh. I know well at least we're more than halfway through March now.

I applied with 10 points. The wait is killing me!

Dang y'all. After that e-mail we got today, I think we are going to have to wait until April 16th :( I was really hoping they were going to send out the e-mails this week. It feels like years away!!!

I was so bummed when I read that email. Their going to wait till the last minute. I thought they would send them out this week.
