Fresno State Nursing (BSN) Fall 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hey everyone!

I didn't see any forums for Fresno State Fall 2018 and so I decided to create one myself.

I applied for Fresno State's program as a transfer for the upcoming fall semester.

Here are my stats:

Prereqs: All A's except one B (chem)

TEAS: 82%

Volunteer hours and some scribing hours

Anyone else applied and know when they will be getting back to us? Has anyone heard about last year's admissions? Thanks in advance!

I have a question for those of you who has submitted your application. Did you guys download the free teas student report and upload it on the application? And do we have to send the official teas transcript to Fresno state before or after you submit the application?

I called the admissions for Fresno State Nursing (They had a number to call on the program materials of the FSU application on NursingCAS) and I explained that for the Lab portion Instead of putting "0 units" and CR I put "No pre-requisites to match" and she said it is fine! She said most students have been calling about that specifically but when admissions looks at our transcripts and the 4/5 units they'll know there was a lab taken as well.

@kittenmeRN As for the teas report I did just attach it under documents! I haven't sent in the official Teas report from ATI specifically. Has anyone does this? I didn't see it instructing us to do so???

Does anyone have any idea how they choose applicants or is it kinda up in the air? Their website is confusing and unclear as to how they admit the students.

They haven't yet decided how they are choosing the students for fall yet. Last fall they chose using a holistic review. They took into account experience in the medical field, teas score (points were given for each section) and grades. For that process there is also an interview and writing exam. Before then, they would choose students solely based on highest GPA and 75% on the teas.

So we aren't sure yet.

Shimmel told me at the work shop that they are going back to gpa and you just have to pass your teas. But the board could always change their minds.

CRam72 on the 7th of this month they were still unsure, when did they tell you they were going back to GPA?

The 5th, but im going to the next workshop because I want shimmel to look at my application because once you submit there's no more changes. I will probably ask her again about the criteria.

Did anyone else catch the nursing seminar @ Fresno state during today's preview day? From what they shared, they rank applicants by their GPA and they go down the list. I'm not sure if that confirms that they are going back to Highest GPA, but that is what I understand from that snippet of information that was shared. We should find out about 6-8 weeks after March 31st

a Nursing student also suggested that if we do not get in, we should apply to Fresno city and graduate with our Associates and work, all of the classes to get your BSN is online, so you can work making the same money as a person with a BSN and go to school for your BSN at the same time.

So this is just an option I wanted to share with you all.

Did anyone else receive the email that the FSU Nursing Admissions received the application and they will be undergoing review of it?

So scary! Does anyone know of last fall's admission stats?

I think the average was around a 3.7 GPA.

I got that email as well, for a second I thought that it was an email telling me I didn't do the application correctly! Lol.

Did anyone check on the myfresnostate? It says my transcripts are not received yet. Wonder it's in processing through NursingCAS or I need to send it again.

Did you send your transcripts from the colleges you attended to Fresno state?
