Is anyone applying to cal state east bay this fall for fall 2017 ???! nursing program

They will complete the background check and you'll get notification when it is done. I think mine took about a week. There is then a checklist for you to complete. Uploading heath docs and you also you will want to make an appt for your drug screen. Congrats on getting in!!!!

Where do you find health document forms? which clinics will fulfill this form for us? Did your doctor give you forms? do any local family doctors provide us form or a proof that we received vaccination? Sorry for so many questions. I'm so clueless right now

I received an email from the nursing department with all the forms to take to my doctor to fill out. If you don't have them, give the nursing department a call. My primary care dr order my titers and filled out my physical form. Drug screen is only done through Castle Branch though. Hope that helps!

Thanks for your help hollie18, I received 3 forms from the nursing department but I assume it's not enough for 19 requirements for Castlebranch. Can I contact you for more details? Do you have Skype, Viber, etc..? We should help each other out. Who knows, you might be one of my classmates!!!

Does anyone know if a Dilute Negative drug test will be Ok or will I have to take the test again?

Ha, I don't even know what Viber is! I'm like a tech dinasour...I still even have an AOL account! I will be at Concord campus though, so if you are there we will definitely be classmates!

Traumaholic, if I had to guess, you would probably need to redo the test, but I don't know for sure.

Uploading the required documents for CastleBranch is a bit tedious. @MelodyTim - I went to my primary care physician and requested a physical for the form that needs to be filled-out and signed. Tell your doctor what you need done and they will help you since most physicians and nurses are happy to help a new student. I had already had my blood titres done for when I volunteered at Kaiser, so I asked the nurses to give me a copy of the results. It's important that the results specifically say your are "positive" or "immune" for the titres (Castlebranch rejected a different form I uploaded because they only showed a "P" for positive and not the whole word). I scanned and uploaded the lab results and submitted it for each requirment. Now everything for the titres and immunizations is showing as Complete in Castlebranch.

It seems daunting all the requirements they are asking for but it's not too bad if you plan ahead and give yourself time to get it done. I live near Concord but I had to go to San Ramon for the drug test since the LabCorp location in San Ramon is the only one near me that does the drug screening. Be sure to call them ahead of time and make sure that specific lab does the drug screening also. Your doctor may refer you to a LabCorp to get your blood drawn for the titres so maybe you can fulfill the drug and titres in one sitting.

I'm not quite sure about the different clinics that offer the lab testing but there was a form that was sent out from the nursing department with a list of low-cost clinics offering the service. Did you get that form? If not, I can send it to you. It came to us in a big email from the nursing department.

Hollie18 - I signed up for the Aug 11th BLS class at Concord campus. Did you sign up for any of the ones offered by the EBSNA or did you go elsewhere?

I'm going to sign up for the September 1st one. I already have a family trip planned and will be gone August 2-12. I would have liked to competed earlier though!! I am feeling so stressed about the required health documents. The lab forgot to test me for MMR and Varicella, ahhh! I'm going today to get my results from my second draw and hope I'm immune!! The email we got last night was quite overwhelming too. Anyone else feel that way? Or maybe the reality of it is now hitting me....I'll be starting nursing school in September!!

BabyD00ks how long did it take castlebranch to go from pending to complete? Also, I'm taking the BLS/first aid through American Red Cross on 7/10, they have a class in Concord that day for $130. I'm not sure why CSUEB is offering the 9/1 class when the requirement is due 8/15?? Anyway, I'll be glad to have it done early.

Has anyone from the middle or lower third heard anything yet?

hollie18 - It didn't take long for the castlebranch to go from pending the complete. I recall it was within two days of me uploading my updated lab report. In that respect, Castlebranch worked pretty fast and I was surprised.

I thought about doing a different CPR class but I liked that the one set-up by the program is affordable. The one I signed up for was only $65 including the current book. I'm sure the program would be lenient about the CPR due date on Castlebranch given how they scheduled the classes. Besides, Castlebranch wants the Sigma Theta form signed and turned in, which the program wants us to bring a copy to orientation, so not everything seems dated the same. Regardless, I think either of the CPR classes work as long as you get your card and learn the info!

@Doxielover21 - Hopefully more people on the waitlist are hearing from the program. My friend who was in the middle third heard around this time last summer that she got in. Good luck if you're still waiting.
