Is anyone applying to cal state east bay this fall for fall 2017 ???! nursing program

Thank you for the information BabyD00ks. $65 is a great price for those classes. The class I'm looking to take is double that. I'll give the nursing department a call and clarify. I'm glad Castlebranch has a fast turn around time. I think I'm going to need a Varicella booster. I had chickenpox as a kid, but that was awhile ago, lol. I was equivalent and was super close to being immune, but not quite. I assume the vaccinations don't need to be complete, as they need to be a month apart. Any one else needing to get updated vaccines?

Is anyone having issues getting their final transcripts sent to CSU East Bay? I ordered official transcripts from DVC on 5/29 and according to my to do list on mycsueb they still have not received them. I'm starting to get a little worried since the deadline is in 10 days.

I ordered my DVC transcripts as soon as grades were posted, around June 1st. I had them sent to me directly and they finally came on Jun 14th. I hand delivered mine directly to the Hayward admissions office to make sure they were received on June 19th. It took until the end of the week for the TO DO list to show that the transcripts went through.

I did get an email stating that I could register for classes and would be receiving my enrollement appointment. Not sure if that's an indicator of the conditional admission moving to fully admitted? Did you get an email like that?

Try giving the admissions office a call to see if the transcripts have been processed. I do think there is a delay in processing from the time it drops off on MyCSUEB.

I definitely should have just hand delivered them so there wouldn't be anything to worry about. I ordered the transcripts on 5/29 and they were sent electronically to East Bay on 6/12. I called admissions yesterday and they said they had received them on 6/12, but they hadn't got around to updating my to do list on mycsueb. They updated it while i was on the phone ,and they told me that it generally takes about 2 weeks from the time they receive them to when it is updated on mycsueb. It disappeared off of my to do list this morning and i received that email you were taling about.

Traumaholic- So I also got a negative-dilute. Have you heard anything, will it be a problem? My sample was not big enough, went first thing in the morning, so she told me to drink a couple glasses of water and wait 30 minutes. She said it wouldn't be too diluted...ugh

As long as it was negative then you're fine. It's pretty common for it to be dilute. If it was too dilute and the temperature was off then you would have redone it that same day.

Thank you for the info. I was worried if I had to redo it, it wouldn't be done by the deadline tomorrow.

Anyone taking the WST on Friday? How are you preparing? I can decently write an essay, but I feel like I should be doing something to review before this test. I have only looked at the schools prep information.

@hollie18 - I'm taking the test this Fri and need to prepare as well and have been thinking about how to approach this test. My plan is to write a solid six paragraph essay; an intro, three paragraphs of "pro" reasons, the fifth paragraph is the "con", and then a conclusion. I plan to start my intro with some sort of introductory line, either a question, general statement/observation about whatever the topic is, then target in on the thesis. I think two hours should be sufficient time to write six good paragraphs. Hopefully the prompt will be something interesting and a topic that I already know about! We'll see how it goes. From the examples they gave, you don't have to be a strong writer to score in the competent range. As long as you stay on thesis and don't make too many errors, I think it will be okay. I do plan to review my old English book on some key transition phrases and what to avoid, such as"I" or "you" or saying "my opinion."

I plan to arrive at the test center a bit early if you want to meet up beforehand. I'm sure I'll see you this Thursday at orientation as well :) Can't wait!!!!

I think that is a good plan of action! I was a little confused on what type of essay we were to write, but I think what you proposed is a good idea. I also hope it an interesting topic that I can write about! And yes, orientation! I'm getting nervous/excited. I find myself thinking a lot about how I will balance home life and school, but mostly I'm just ready to get this started! Looking forward to meeting everyone Thursday, and BabyD00ks I'll be there early Friday as well!

For the physical assessment, do you use your own doctor? What about the titers and everything?

doxielover21, I saw my regular PCP for my titers and physical. Congrats on getting a spot in the program!! What campus are you at?
