Nursing Students School Programs

I know its super duper early.. I'm still in the process of taking my pre reqs.. I still need biol 1406 & bio 2401 I made a B in engl 1301 & A in psyc 2301.. I plan on taking bio 1406 in fall & bio 2401 in winter semester. Im taking as many supporting classes as I can to rack up on the extra points. I currently attend collin but they have so many more requirements than el centro so in the event i do not get accepted into elcentro the following semester I will apply at collin.. I still need Hesi & all my shots along with cpr.. anyone in the same situation? Or just getting the process started?? I figured I'd start a thread to help us all get over this together.. feel free to comment advice, concerns or questions :)

I want to Collin college to I finish there but now I want get into el centro program because university is killing me its to expensive. Let me know which steps your are making this semester. I am looking for a way to get done with my vaccines.

I'm a recent grad from Wyoming, I was surprised by all the hoops you have to jump through just to make it into nursing school and then to graduate and then to get licensed! It's a journey

Just know that you'll get through it and if not this semester then the next one. Perseverance goes a long way :) don't let things hinder your desire for becoming a nurse.

Hello!

I'm currently taking my prerequisites now. I'm taking Biol 2401 currently and take my Hesi on the 22nd of this month. I just redid my cpr and have 1 more shot to take to be all caught up. It's been such a long process just to prepare for admissions. Good luck to you!!!

This nursing program stuff gives me high anxiety! I don't know what to expect next! I've spoken to someone that says i may not be able to get in because i have Scit 1407 and 1408, (anatomy and physiology), i took the Hesi in 2013, I have to retake that. Do I need to take Biology 2401 and 2? I also hear that the Scits dont transfer in the universities. I'm rambling I know. But Gheeesh! i almost want to say screw it! and apply for the LVN just to get my foot in the door! How does that Nursing pathways work for UTA? Oh and I have an Associates in Science already. Any suggestions? I had mostly Bs but c's in Micro and Chem. I dont wanna take them over though. LOL!

Yes you need to take A&P. They changed some of the requirements

Did you see the new changes to the point system? It changed from 40 to 50. Now an 80 and higher is required on each HESI section.

What are the support courses?

has anyone taken the hesi?

Yes I took it back in July, but didn't get the scores I wanted so I'm retaking it in October.

Hey! I am applying for Fall 2017 too!

Does anyone know if the Hep A shots have to be exactly 6 months apart? I had my first one and never had my 2nd....so it would be more than 6 months apart. I would really hate to have to wait another semester because I had to restart it!

Other than that, I still have a lot to do...

CPR

Physical

set up with Sentry

study and take the Hesi

The Hesi in itself is HUGE since the point system changed!!! Based on my last hesi, I would only get 7 points for it!! So I really need to study!!! I am taking it December 16th. I have plenty of time to study, but I thought I was well prepared last time! I am retaking my Psyc class for an A. Does anyone know if A&P1 is offered during wintermester? I would love to retake it because I got a C!

I am not sure if the Hep A has to be exactly 6 months apart, you should go ahead and find out and get it before the deadline. I am also taking the Hesi on the 16th at El Centro!

I do not think that Ap1 is offered during wintermester.
