Edinboro Innovative Fall 2014

Nursing Students School Programs

Just got accepted to Edinboro's Innovative program for Fall 2014 in Pennsylvania! Had my Skype interview January 16th. Anyone accepted or waiting for admission? Note: Don't lose hope! My GPA is horrible and my pre-req GPA is even worse but I got in! Show that you have passion in your interview!!

Hi! I got in too! I'm really excited. It was really my only choice, so I was really nervous! You did a Skype interview? Where do you live? I did an in-person interview, and that was a bit nerve-wracking, even though they were really nice.

Yay congrats!! Yup I'm from Long Island, NY. Bit of a hike from the school but I'm super excited as well!! Totally agree, my interviewer was really nice and open. I imagined it was going to be all serious so the fact that she was so pleasant was a relief!

Hi!! I got accepted into the program also. I live in Philadelphia but I will be moving in August. Any suggestions about the housing?? All I know is that the weather there is pretty cold. What areas will you recommend looking into?

Thanks!!!

Hi angelika.sb~

Congrats! Looking forward to meeting you.

I'm familiar with the area, and I'm from western PA; I went to college originally in Erie. Yup, it's cold! And I definitely recommend snow tires, so plan now.

As for places to live, there are always off campus housing places around a big state university. Edinboro is a pretty small town; if you wanted to you could also live in Erie, which is about 30 minutes away, depending on which part. The clinical sites, from what I understand, are both in Erie, and in Meadville, which is 30 minutes SOUTH of Edinboro.

Wow, thank god you know a lot about the area. This is going to be an entire transition for me. Need all the help I could get!

I'm starting to look for apartments now. Craigslist (my personal favorite), roommates.com and roomster.com are great places to look.

I live about an hour away, and although I *really* don't want to, I think I'm going to have to rent an apartment some where. It looks like clinicals will go from 7am-9:30pm when they start? yikes. Hopefully I'm wrong on that!

I've lived in Baltimore for about 10 years; looking at rents that are $300, when I was recently paying $1200 just makes me cry! lol

Oh geez I'm not looking forward to that but it must be done! Lol do you guys have Facebook? Here's mine: https://www.facebook.com/chi.string?ref=tn_tnmn.

Hey everyone! I was accepted into Fall 2014 also..Cttruong I added u on Facebook! Hopefully we can all chat before the start of the program. I have no idea where to live and never have been to that area before. I plan to visit soon.

hi Rmerid and congrats!

Looking forward to meeting you too. Where are you coming from?

I am familiar with the area, so if you have questions, ask away.

Hey! I live on long island also, and I was accepted in december but I was waiting to hear back from the NY schools and they were so competitive! The price for edinboro looks great, although ive heard good and bad reviews. I've heard a lot of people live in erie, and some live closer to school but i dont want to pay like 10,000 a year!!

Well, the one thing I can say, Lb1009, is that I'm confident that rents are a LOT lower in this area than on Long Island!

I just rented a cottage for $300/month. If you want a studio to 1bedroom, prices range $300-$600/month. If you can find someone to rent with, you'll be able to keep your costs low; roommates can pay $300-500 or so?
