I am currently getting my nursing school application together for OCCC's (Oklahoma City Community College) Traditional Pathway Nursing application deadline in April. I just wanted to put some feelers out to see who of you out there are also applying, and to see how we are all doing on our points. I have yet to take my TEAS test (I'll be taking it next week), and I am about to do clinicals to finish up my CNA (to get a preference point). If all goes well, I should be sitting at 18 points with a 3.27 GPA. I heard that the traditional pathway applicants for spring of 2012 had higher preference points, and GPA's than ever before. (DON'T Quote me, but I think it was something like 17 points, and a 3.3GPA) Regardless, it was higher than usual. The spring has, in the past, had less points required for admission than Fall. This was a little disconcerting to me, as I fear I am cutting it close. However, I have also heard that the BADNAP program, (which, in the past, has not even had enough applicants to fill its positions), has accepted applicants without all pre-requisites completed by the application deadline (as required in the past). This year, they are accepting applicants who will have pre-requisites completed before the start of the program. My hope is that this will ease up some tension on the traditional pathway applicants. Have any of you heard anything else? How are your points? What have you been doing to get extra points?
