  1. Hello, I am extremely saddened that I have to start this thread, but I am extremely close to failing out of my 2nd semester of and ADN-RN program.. I need to make about 86 on my 75 question final. The problem is that we have heard, that the final is the worst. It upsets me that I get all of the Nursing intervention questions right, and even get all of the Delegation question right. my problem is that I miss the dumbest, simpliest ones for example " leave the light on", "elevate the head of the bed", " Hypotonic fluid distribution ... It makes me so mad at myself BC I would hate to fail out bcz of the simplest things, bcz I understand the diseases and treatments, but how can I prevent myself from picking the more extreme answer and just stick with the basics? A friend who graduated said it might be hurting me when I do questions from NCLEX review books bcz those are meant for people who are ready to take the NCLEX and will only hurt me and my current situation.. Oh and I forgot to mention, I have already failed out the LPN as well, so it makes me think that maybe nurai g isn't for me 😦😢
  2. Thanks kellum22. I'm applying for the 1+1 in Moore as well did they mention at the meeting that it will take the 1+1members 5 semesters now instead of just 4? This is something being brought to the school board to be approved and if it is, that will effect us too! We will complete our LPN then take a 16 week transitional course at occc to prove we're prepared to continue with RN and then we complete our 3rd and 4th semester as long as we already have a LPN JOB ;-/. It kinda sucks but I guess it's better than not graduating at all right? So maybe ill see you in August. I'm still getting all my paperwork together for MNTC
  3. Hello All so NOW I am truly considering this 1+1 LPN to RN program.. I wrote down pros and cons and the pros out weigh the cons.. So can anyone who HAS attended to 1+1 give me insight? I'm gonna start a new thread with this info too
  4. Hello All I went to OCCC TODAY and spoke to the Guy and he said the same thing as the above post about people dropping up until class starts. He did day so far one person has declined so alternat #1 will get called. I also have all vaccines ,CPR, and just need background check when that time comes. So ready to start but will pass on the 1+1 and apply for the evening semester. Lets hope 20 people decline or walk out of orientation LOL
  5. @ koko the guy at occc said one time they took 23 alternates but then the time after that they took 12;( what alternate are you? I'm #20 and also got invited the 1+1 route but I will pass on that and wait and apply next semester
  6. Hello All. I was alternate # 20 and was offered the 1+1 program.. I am going to pass on the 1+1 and just apply next semester after I pass my math for 2 more points good luck to you all !!
  7. Hi ALL, I JUST called occc and spoke to " THE GUY" he said the notifications have not been sent out yet, he is still waiting in records/scores.. He did say about 200 people applied and cut off was 17points.. I only had 16;( he said anyone who didn't get in will get a letter in the mail ( they will mail them late today or early tomorrow) with their alternate# and a letter included if they qualify for the 1+1 program! So now I wait to see what alternate I was;( good luck to everyone with 17 or higher, looks like YOU MADE IT!! Woot woot.
  8. That's correct. The A&P 1&2, general Bio,micro,Chem,& nutrition all count for preference points as long as you have a "B" or higher. You are only allowed 3 points for these classes. So if you made a B or higher in all of them you still only get three points.
  9. I didn't get any email either and I also applied the 4th.. I check my OCCC email every 10 minutes!! From my phone and laptop. Lol
  10. @sylviabee. MINE TOO!! I doubt I get in, but I'd love to see if I'm at last an alternate lol
  11. @sylviabee I agree with you. I talked to him today and we should get emails by Monday and non accepted people will have letters mailed out Monday too for those accepted into the 1+1 program. So it's sooooo close now!! Good luck. I've list hope since I only had 16 points but we shall see how many alternates are accepted as well. Maybe I will fall into that category lol
  12. Hello all if you have access to read my other posts. I just posted an update today about the Fall 2013 at OCCC. I CALLED TODAY!! go check out my post. It's too much to type again ;-/
  13. Hello everyone , I called OCCC today and spoke to the "GUY" who tallys the points and sends out the notifications. He said they should be done tallying this Friday and notifications should go out Monday. Those accepted will get receive an email , those not accepted or those accepted into the 1+1 will be notified by mail.. So come Mobday check your email and mailbox daily this semester they were crunched on time because the 1+1 programs orientation is the week of May 6th I believe he said, so everyone has to be notified alot quicker this time.. YAY! Good luck to us all
  14. @jesuslover007.. Hello I see you are in the OCCC NP1 now.. Can you give us info on how to prepare ourselves for NP1? What's first semester really like ?
  15. Hello. I have applied with 16 points and 3.0 GPA. NOT SURE IT'S enough though ;( I'm working in my math to get two more points in case I don't get in.. I'm not to hopeful at this time after reading so many posts;(
