Anyone started Senior Health/public health discussion board?? Two targeted health issues nutrition and transportation or falls want to be on the right track.

Week 2 done!! Glad to get another week under my belt. The windshield survey seemed extremely long, though I did learn a few tidbits about my community. It looks like week 3's assignments include 2 DB postings. More thinking and writing. This program has always been heavy on writing so this shouldn't surprise me. On to week 3, good luck everyone!

cincinmary - I really wish I had read yours before I turned in my assignment - this has been such a week...it was all I could do to turn it in - I still could have put in a lot more descriptions than I did...I had better check in more often...

Sometimes you just have to see the humor in things. We go on a drive in our community in the dead of winter and are asked about people sitting outside eating and playing in the park. I wanted to write that anyone who had their child in the park on the day I was out needed a visit from child protective services or the psych social worker. It was bad enough here that day that I questioned my sanity of being out.

Hey...I don't ever remember citing a website in my references when I took this class last year. They are being rough. Sheesh! Again no consistency across TA's.
Blecch.

I too feel like the TA's are not consistent with one another on grading. I missed 2 full points on last weeks stats assignment because I did not double space and indent my references. I feel as though that was a little much to deduct for such simple errors. I am afraid to turn in any more assignments!

Hi mblou- I was just looking at the first DB for week 3 and was thinking about falls and alzheimers? I went to my local community health website and there is an article about alzheimers. Do you or anyone know if there is any specific format for writing this proposal or are we to just put in paragraph format our ideas for each topic?

Good luck to eveyone in week 3! I am already feeling overwhelmed for the next 2 weeks due to the way the TA is grading in this class. I feel as though she is docking more points than neccessary. Does anyone else in this class feel like the instructions and what is being asked of us in the DB is a little confusing? I feel like the instructions are not very clear leaving me to question if I am writing about the correct information.

Hey everyone - just to remind you - our readings for this week 3- chapter 19 is on seniors - so that is where you can get the stuff you need to write about...then do all your research on your county online and see where the problems are...anywho that is what I am going to do....

There isn't a specific format for the proposal, at least not anywhere that I could find. I am writing mine in an essay paper format with an introduction, topic #1 propsoal info, then topic #2 proposal info, and conclsion.

This program is notorious for inconsistent grading amongst the TAs.

Yes, like those of us who got killed in week 1 for not citing all of the website references for the county, state, and national facts in APA format. It was supposed to be a 3-4 hour project per the directions. It took me about 6 hours and I had over 20 websites listed. That would have taken another 2 hours at least to figure that mess out. I'm just happy to be close to the finish line.
