Frustrated by OU's library/ebsco host

I think with Ebsco you can limit your search to only show full text articles and not full text plus those articles that only offer abstracts.

Another student showed me on Google, click More, then even More, there is a scholarly writing link. It does have some dead ends but gives some good ones, that I have been able to find on OU. There is a link to the "ask the libriarian" on the website, I would ask them about your problem finding articles. That's their job, so ask.

Thanks! I think I was just so used to the available sources from my old school. I was still using it up until a month ago when they changed the password. I've been debating calling and asking for the new one (since I did pay a TON of $$ for that degree I should still get access to the research materials! :))

I did discover yesterday that if I scroll down further on some of the articles there is an extra link for the doi after the article abstract. I was able to access a few articles that way. I just hate, hate, hate that linksource stuff! I guess a lot of the articles they have physical copies of in their library, but that doesn't help much when I live in CA!

Did you try "Find It" on the left hand side?? That is how you get access to the entire article from the abstract. Works every time for me.

Yes, that is what I do. It usually takes me to another page with a few links to gain access to the article, but lately I've run into several that either have no link or bad links.

I just tried to pull up an article I had trouble with yesterday and of course now there is a runtime error. Go figure! haha. There is one type of link that takes me to a page that says "This ISSN number could not be found. The number you're looking for would be here (in between links to other ISSN numbers" or something like that. I can't remember the exact wording.

It's back up and working. So I just found an article that I wanted to use and clicked the "find it with linksource" link. It took me to another page and the results were :

Most of the time those links will work, but this week I've had several that ended in bad links or "not found".

It's frustrating, maybe I just need to pick better articles!
