I attended one of the satellite campus's about 8 years ago maybe less.Anyone know how long your prereq's are good for? Math/Eng/Soc/Pysch/A&P etc.Was thinkin bout maybe tryin to go back and finish.I only had 3 class's left before taking the transition for the LPN'S TO R.N'S .I just can't fathom starting all over again, but would be nice if I could get my head outta my butt and finish before my daughter graduates high school, lol.

I believe it's 5 years but the best advice I can give is to call the school

I am in the process of registering for Kent (Trumbull campus) also for all of my pre reqs, etc. (I attended Kent many moons ago) I believe that your psych/sociology type courses will transfer, but your maths and sciences after 7 years do not. I hope I am wrong though:) Good luck!

i graduated from a kent branch in 2004, and i also had prereq's from 10 yrs prior when i started up again. any credit you earned cannot be taken away from you, regardless the length of time. they will probably have you take a math test and place you accordingly if you still need a math credit, same with english. the only prob i had was that i had a less than steller gpa when i dropped out in the 90's, so make sure when you go back that you get a physical copy of the freshman forgiveness policy if you are utilizing it. i didn't, they changed the policy right before i graduated, and i almost didn't graduate.

good luck in school, and good for you for going back!:yeah:

There is a time frame involved with pre-req nursing courses and nursing courses. It's this way at pretty much every nursing school, with normal time frames in the range of 5-7 years usually.

Your basic studies (humanities, english, psych, etc.) should be fine regardless of the time frame. It's the anatomies, micro, nutrition, pharm, etc. courses that will likely need to be taken if they're over so many years.

Any LER's that you took, doesn't matter the time frame will be accepted and deducted from the requirements needed for your nursing degree and/or your accelerated program.

Least that was what I was advised just last month.

I graduated back in 1992 in another degree not even remotely close to nursing.

Since LER's have changed I now have to take 3 additional science classes.

Per the nursing classes and clinicals. Yes those do have a time limit. Go have a meeting with your advisor. KSU transcripts are now all online and if they have to "reactivate" your transcript it takes less than a week for it to go online.

Make sure you register for your "FlashLine" account and update all of the "my account" settings. You'll use that A LOT for your classes, bursers, financial aid, etc. Neat online tool!

Welcome back to school! Nice to see that I am not alone in going back to school at a much older age than the rest of the students! LOL!
