Hey guys!

I'm looking for some guidance here. I'm looking to go RN to BSN right now, and thinking that online is for me.. I work full time, and have a very young daughter at home. Going to class multiple times a week, even once, will be pretty rough.

Any opinions? I'm looking at university of phoenix...... I'm scared that an online degree is still considered "not as good", but I already have an associates, and a current license.

Please - any and all advice is well appreciated in advance!

I'm in the middle of Kaplan's program right now and I am SO happy I chose them. I was within a stamp's lick of going to Walden and I changed my mind at the last minute. I totally LOVE Kaplan. Seminar is only once a week for an hour and most of them are audio/visual. They really utilize technology to the student's advantage. The web and various technologies are not just for communication but for LEARNING, as well. I just finished Statistics (probably my hardest course) and it was audio, visual, books and lots of interaction with the prof. Almost like being in a classroom. I planned to stop at my BSN but I love school so much I'm considering my Master's. Of course I will stay at Kaplan. I encourage you to investigate them at kaplan.edu

I finished my BSN in February and I started at the University of Phoenix and ended up getting my degree through South University. South University is all online and very flexible and you do it all from your computer. You have set assignments that are due on certain days and you have to sign in 4 out of 7 days and answer discussion questions and interact with your classmates. I really enjoyed it and would do it again and I have..I just started my MSN program and I would highly recommend South University..it is cheaper than Universit of Phoenix too...hope that helps

I am a current BSN student at University of Phoenix and I absolutely love it! My enrollment advisor helped me so much when I started and my classes are all scheduled up until graduation so I can easily see my upcoming courses. There are no clinicals, just some praticums which are nice, and I found the price to be more than reasonable, in fact it was the least expensive BSN program in Columbus. It is acceditated by the CCNE which was important to me and the credits can transfer to a MSN program if I decide to go on later, but even if I do I am staying with UOP. I only have 2 classes left so I am not a new student with them, Ihave been in long enough to get a feel for whatever most students encounter. Online is awesome too, no set time to be online , no lectures, free tutoring and worskhops on the campus and online, no clinicals, not expensive...why go elsewhere, plus they have a partnership with Ohio Health which makes me feel very safe that this degree will be looked on favorably. My DON graduated from there and she also loved it.:redbeathe

Ohio University and Northern Kentucky University offer an online RN to BSN program. OU and NKU have an excellent reputation in my area.

Cleveland State University also has an RN-BSN program that is online. Good luck!!

Specializes in None but I am a...HHA ( Home Health Aid).

Ashland University also has an Rn to bsn online course. I live about 30 min from the main campus and from what I understand its a great school to attend, Im thinking about doing thier online program after I get my associate from my local community college.

I have heard good things about the Ashland program, but pricey

What MSN are you doing at South? I too am going to be applying to their ANP program as soon as I finish my BSN. Let me know of any pitfalls. Is the testing format all papers or what? I am 99.99% sure I want to do that one seeing that I am a single mom of 3 and I will be done with classroom visiting. Let me know!
